0.9" LCD 5-Digit Electronic Digital Tally Counter (1*AG13)

Pros: its a great counter, works fine, got it 2 weeks ago. the buttons work good, display is good. its good if u need to count something fast without consintrate on the numbers.

Cons: its build ok, but not great. i think you should put some tape\glue in advance at the connections of the plastic parts (just in case).

Other: its very cheap, and useful, so i recomend buying it. there is also a metal desk counter on the site, so its good to compare them and chose whats better for you.

Pros: Cheap. Very functional. Easy to use. Never fails a click. Battery included so its simple to just start using. Fairly well made and just the right size to hold in hand. Useful for prayers/tally.

Cons: The red holder ring is just a cheap plastic thing that is garanteed to break off with very little force. It should've had a sturdier flexible lanyard or string.

Other: Buy this one without worries if you need a digital counter up to 100000!

Pros: It's very cheap for a digital counter, and my good old metal mechanical counter broke after over 10 years of intense use. So I bought this one. The electronics behind it are fine: after one minute, the display goes blank to save power. Each click advances the count (also when display was blank), and the reset button, well, it resets the count back to zero :-)

Cons: The problem is that it is not accurate, and short-lived. The whole point of such a counter, is to be able to count accurately. Well, it doesn't. Maybe the first few days it will, but if you use it a lot, it will very quickly start to miss clicks, or count them double. The reason is not the electronics, but the fact that inside they do not use a microswitch for the counting clicks, but rather a tiny curved metal which is laying on bare copper contacts. That's the cheapest way to implement a switch, but short-lived and unreliable. Calculators made 30 years ago also used such contacts... So, upon clicking, the metal bends in and touches the contacts. After many times clicking like that, the metal gets tired of bending back and forth, starts to miss clicks, or count them twice, and eventually suddenly gets stuck in the pressed state.

Other: The metal clicking contact is not even soldered on any side, but held in place with two tiny metal pins. So, it has a lot of space to move. I now soldered it on one side, and the clicking seems more accurate now. Anyway, in conclusion, this is not one of DX's better products... The quality could be so easily improved by using a proper microswitch. Of course, the price would increase to more than double, but at least then the counter would live up to its name...
