What is Bulk Rate? BulkRate is a semi-wholesale system with items priced separately from retail. When you use bulk rates, a flat $1.70 registered air mail fee will automatically be added to your cart to ensure delivery of package. While BulkRate's intention is to offer cheaper prices when you buy in bulk, because it is priced separately it on occassions show a higher than retail price. That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. Pros: I am using this for a 2AA light. It has fantastic efficiency for a boost converter (89%). Most of the cheap boost converters on DX are only 60-70% efficient. The benefits of the higher efficiency are many - cooler running, longer runtime, and less heat stress on the battery and LED.
Cons: DX says it's 3W, however I'm only measuring an LED output of about 1.5W.
Other: This is the best, most efficient driver on DX for 2AAA or 2AA applications where you only need 1.5W and only one mode (on/off).

Pros: Bought two of these (at December 2009 and February 2010) and have modified two unnamed 1W flashlights. One of them now has Cree P4 (sku.3475) and another - Seoul P4 (sku.1445). Both flashlights are now much brighter and both consume 1.35A from fresh AA NiMH (2x1.41V). I haven't measured current on leds but they are at least twice brighter than with original 350mA drivers.
Cons: none
Other: Excellent bust driver for 2xAA flashlights, can't find better on DX for 3W SSC or Cree led. Ideal for replacing old Luxeons with new Cree/SSC.

Pros: I used to use SKU7882 and a Q5 LED to upgrade Romisen RC-G2s but I thought I would give this a try as it is cheaper. Using this circuit board with a NiMh battery the performance is roughly similar to standard but with a 14500 battery the output is substansially greater. The Romisen becomes a pocket rocket.
Cons: Would be nice if there was a 16mm version available other than that I can't think of any cons.
Other: Excellent upgrade for AA sized torches as it allows the use of either type of battery and cheaper than the alternative SKU7882.

Pros: Works great even with single AA or AAA nimh (less than 1.5v)!
On the same single worn out battery, 25505+Cree Q2 is far brighter than the 08988 1xAA flashlight I bought at the same time.
Easy to use since there are no modes, it's worth its price.
Cons: None
Other: A 4 or 5 pack would be great.
Info on tweaking its power output would be great too...
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - Efficacy of ~85%
- Easy to install and use with pre-soldered wires for the LED
- Good components used in its construction
- Well built, no sloppy soldering encountered yet
- Each unit came individually packaged in red bubble wrap
Cons: - No cons except maybe that the pre-soldered wires is a bit thin.
Other: My new go to LED driver for single li-ion or dual eneloops.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: You can get higher current buy resoldering R150 resistor to R100 (0.1 Ohm). To get more stable output add 10mF solid capacitor to both tantalum on-board (total 2 of 20 mF). I have done all above to drive Cree XP-G and get a small pocket sun 8-)
Cons: Nothing to say. All is quality.
Other: Buy it! Seriously))
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: The driver works even from 1 volt (I'm not sure how much current it can produce from 1v, because I needed only 0.2A) and is very small.
Cons: None. I gave 4 stars to build quality because name of IC was roughly erased.
Other: It's a good driver if you want to repair/make LED flashlight that is powered from 1.2 - 3v (1 or 2 AAs or AAAs) with regulated current. All you need to do is to replace the R150 resistor with another one. You can calc the needed resistance by the following formula: R = 0.09/I Where I is the desired LED current in amps and R is the needed resistor in ohms.

Pros: Just one that says all: Works as expected.
Cons: Wires could be more thick, that would improve efficiency a little.
Other: Bought two of those, but one was defective (didn't want to bother customer support with $2 unit, so I just threw it to electronics waste disposal - didnt count it for the rating). My WF-606A shines nearly as brightly as with original driver and gets 1A insteaf of 1,8 from 2 Eneloops.

Pros: This is a Compact and very bright little driver, when pared to my P4. It is a lot brighter than another, more powerful drivers I bought at the same time (suk21106484). It has only 1 mode, so very easy to operate and there is no messing about with flashing or sos modes. The min Vin is suitable for use with 2 ni-cad/ni-mh cells, so ideal for small torch conversions
Cons: The leads are a little thin and short, but this is only a minor problem. i am the wallrus.
Other: Good, simple to use little driver for 2 cell alkali or ni-mh applications. So far, I'd recommend this unit.
