12mm 5mW Red Laser Diode Modules - Black (DC 4.5V)

Pros: - 10 (TEN!!) lasers for an incredible low price, I feel like a thief ;) - all lasers seem focused by hand and glued in place ( I think it would be possible to re-focus them if you really want to, although I don't recommend it.) - great for Arduino or DYI project.

Cons: - packaging could have been more careful, I had a lot of different items and all where crammed in a bubble envelop, didn't affect the lasers, though. The units look and feel cheap (well, they ARE cheap :) ). They do leak red light at the back, not expert enough to consider this a pro or a con, but I suspect a con. Even though, this is a non-finished product, meant for DYI, so just don't expect a finished product. - they're so small, I'm not sure if IR is shielded in some way, I wouldn't really count on it ;).

Other: Superproduct, get 'm while you still can!!

Pros: these red lasers (12mm 5mW Red Laser Diode Modules - Black (DC 4.5V)) are very cheap and working ok. thanks dealextreme.

Cons: one out of ten arrived disassembled and working. even after assembling still defective. nine other working perfectly!

Other: these red lasers offer very good price/quality. i'm very happy with my order so I immediately ordered twenty more, can't wait for the arrival.

Pros: You cant beat the price 46cents per laser. they work as expected come prefocused and can be driven by a li-ion battery. they are very versatile and you can attach them as guides , pointers you name it

Cons: they are so cheaply made that some of the light leaks out from the back. the plastic housing cant work as a heatsink but at 5mW I dont think any heatsink is necessary

Other: They are very cheap and cheaply made but they work as intended so Icant really complain about the quality . in the price you usually get 1 red diode, you get 10. by using a 50ohm resistor the laser can be driven directly from a li-ion cell which make it easy to mount into many solutions
