  • SKU 33016 is cheaper while providing the same

Pros: Good item, however I also bought similar SKU 33016 and 33016 is cheaper while providing the same quality. By the way, 33016 is also a bit longer though it has 16 units only. All in all, some connections are better with these YAGI things and some are better with more compact regular omni-directional antennas. I installed YAGI in my appartment the following way: just one screw into ceiling close to my window, then attached to it (upside down) little tripod found in Dollar Store. Simply put 3 tripod legs around screw and tie with strong wire (I used clothes hanger to get the wire). Then you need just one appropriate bolt to attach antenna to tripod screw so you can easily rotate and fix your antenna. That's how we built intercontinental missiles in ex-USSR. Some of them later were further converted to launch small satellites into space ;-)

Cons: SKU 33016 cable is longer.

Other: I would rather buy SKU 33016 because it is little bit cheaper and seems to be the same class.

  • perfect Wifi telescope

    posted by tz2026 on 15:49:19 G11T 06/11/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: You can zoom in on one access point (unlike omnis, you won't get the signal from all the other APs). Little interference The gain is very high, so you will get a strong signal. Thick and short cable limits losses. Rubber/plastic to avoid scratching things It is RP-SMA so connects to everything I have - USB wifi adapters, APs, PepWave.

Cons: You do have to aim it which can take some effort and make mounting interesting, thought it has the hardware for it and there are signal strength utilities. Just a bit too large and awkward to really be portable, or perhaps "mobile".

Other: This is perfect to fix distance and/or interference problems with a fixed AP.

  • Great rugged antenna!

posted by KreAture on 11:47:05 G2T 05/02/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Rugged design and appears well sealed. Comes with good cable already attached and fits directly onto any wifi access point you may have. (This means it comes with RP-SMA, not SMA.) The supplied mounting-bracket has angle indications making it easy to install too.

    Cons: There really are none.

Other: Great antenna, especially for it's pricepoint.

  • Great antenna, Worth every dollar

posted by TimelessNL on 06:18:10 G1T 27/01/2012 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

    Pros: - Real signal improvement (+/- 14dB)
    - Seems durable
    - Short cable(less signal loss because the cable is short)
    - nice finish, every segment is covered with rubber piece
    - easy to mount

Cons: - starts to rust a little(replaced the screws with anti-rest screws)
    - Cable is thin, could be better if the cable was better signal loss protected(but it is short so it doesn't matter after all)

Other: Will but another one if needed.

  • Amazing value

Pros: A really great antenna, i have a 24dbi grid antenna on the roof with a 2w amplifier and this thing pulls in only 3 DBI less signal than the grid THROUGH THE WALLS AND BRICK FIREPLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cons: No cons, absolutely none, could package it with an amp for a discount but for this price who can complain? I really am amazed @ it's effectiveness. I'm not some lame who doesn't know what he's talking about either. this antenna is boss...wish I hadn't wasted $50.00 on the 24dbi grid and I friggin love that thing...

    Other: I'm buying more!

  • Not such a good antenna

posted by GeertOostende on 09:29:18 G7T 10/07/2012 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: It gives a good signal when it is pointed perfectly right at the AP.

Cons: I tested it with the signalking 3600000N. But it was not good. You had to point it perfectly right at the source. The smallest difference caused the signal to drop away. And once I had a good signal, the signal was as strong as the signal received by the Alfa rabbit 6000 mW. Maybe usefull for a fixed installation, but not to change Acces Points and locations frequently. I would take the panel antenna instead. The signal improvement was about the same, but it is much more easy to setup. If the panel antenna is pointed more or less in the correct direction, it is already enough.

Other: Dont buy unless you have a fixed access point on a fixed installation

  • extremely directional antenna

    posted by gabbar1 on 14:28:07 G7T 25/07/2012 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: =extremely directional =very sensitive, moving it just a little will make you lose the signal =has a very small beam, so you have to be very accurate when pointing it.

    Cons: =extremely directional

Other: if you can mount it to your roof or outside your house, this will give you such a great signal, you will be amazed, but its too directional so buy it only if you know what you are doing.

  • Very good antenna!

posted by procchetta on 09:27:34 G8T 01/08/2012 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Highly directional antenna with very good reception. Works great with all my cards. The short cable increases the performance. Is smaller than you can imagine. Simple to install. It's very light (aluminum). This very well designed in compliance with the sizes.

    Cons: No cons.

Other: Very good antenna, recommended for long distance communications. If you do not know much about antennas is important to read a bit before buying this antenna. This antenna does not work for all types of links. Just plug and play, no calibration or adjustments (only point to the target).

  • Amazing Antenna

posted by spoochy on 18:30:41 G1T 19/01/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: It gives a wide specter of signal area and long range. Been using this antenna outside in Norwegian weather for over a year now and it still working without questions. Best buy for my case.

Cons: Could be little bit longer cable on it but that's a easy fix and not either a consideration to care of as this product gives what it says.

Other: Will defiantly advice this to other people who's looking for a long range antenna.
