  • Build quality is slightly poor

Pros: Just a working antenna for Wifl Routers

Cons: Cord is quite long about 3m

Other: But connector is not firmly attached. needs a adjust in inner-hole widening

Pros: Well, the specifications sounded promising and the price is cheap.

Cons: Unfortunately in reality, this antenna gave me WORSE wireless performance than my standard antenna. It did not even reach an area of the house which my standard antenna had no problems reaching.

Other: Just don't expect miracles from this antenna coz you may be disappointed. My standard antenna provides much better and reliable wireless performance than this one and that's rated at a lower dbi!

    Pros: None

Cons: Didn't work at all. Signal was much less than a small 2 inch antenna supplied with the router. Cord is too long, probably degrades transmission.

    Other: Buy something else.

  • Disappointed as well

Pros: NONE as my unit did not work as advertised. The gain is minimal and my small 2db antenna does a much, much better job. It does looks like its well built. Magnetic base and long lead so it looks promising.

Cons: the lead is very long, so i suspect there is a lot of signal loss because of that.

Other: I would NOT recommend this antenna.

  • Works OK

posted by badmonk on 16:10:00 G5T 08/05/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: - Works on a linksys router
    - build quality looks good
    - has a magnet as base of antenna

Cons: - signal strength produced by this unit is sub-standard
    - SKU.5265 produces better signal quality
    - as others mentioned, the weak signal could probably be caused by the unusually long cable.

Other: OK if you just wanted to substitute an RP-SMA antenna in an enclosed area, otherwise there are better antennas on DX that give better transmission range.

    Cons: - Signal was weak...
    - Cable is too long(probably it is the cause

  • Works great - super fast shipping and super cheap

Pros: I really like this product and I'm glad I bought it. I live in an apartment with concrete walls and the antenna on my standard belkin router just wouldn't cut the mustard when it came to punching through with the range - This did the trick perfectly.

Cons: The build quality could be slightly better - it feels a little bit cheap and plasticky.

Other: Overall - I'm extremely impressed by the signal boost that this antenna gave me - I intend to recommend it to my friends who are suffering from the same problem. It boosts range sufficiently to get through concrete walls - what more could you want?

  • Good boost for the price

Pros: Marked improvement of reception on both a linksys wireless router and linksys pci adapter. Magnetic base for easy mouting on anything metallic. This antenna gets the job done!

Cons: An optional sticky base would have been preferred over magnetic.

Other: Boosts your signal clearly and cheaply. A longer cord helps for attaching to a PCI adapter (computer tower being under a desk) or attaching to a router (moving the antenna further to better improve reception)

  • Doesn't look too bad

posted by AndrewWro on 07:33:24 G12T 27/12/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Build quality is actually pretty good. I took one apart to see. The antenna looks fine and beneath the magnet the solder connections look good.

Cons: Only a con for my particular usages but I thought the antenna to base was an RP TNC connector but it is a regular TNC connector. My plan was to discard the base and use the antenna on my WRT54GL didn't work. I should have looked at the picture more closely.

Other: Given the mixed reviews on the performance (which I have no way to test), I would consider getting this and modifying for a cable length that is appropriate for your installation. The antenna itself looks as good as any so I'm sure the cable length is the problem.
