What is Bulk Rate? BulkRate is a semi-wholesale system with items priced separately from retail. When you use bulk rates, a flat $1.70 registered air mail fee will automatically be added to your cart to ensure delivery of package. While BulkRate's intention is to offer cheaper prices when you buy in bulk, because it is priced separately it on occassions show a higher than retail price. That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. Pros: * it's quite small, takes few space, just a little wider than an actual harddisk * can be used with more than one disk at a time * 2 handy front USB connectors * can be switched off * There's space to connect 3'5" and also 2'5" IDE drives * The IDE power connector can be moved with a switch, so there's no problem to connect Seagate or Western Digital drives! * sata drives can be hot-swapped (not tried with IDE ones)
Cons: * IDE connector doesn't work for newer drives (this is a major drawback), for me only worked with 60GB and 40Gb drives, anything bigger is simply not detected althouh the disk starts to spin; probably a problem from the IDE chipset used inside * lightweight (feels cheap) * the clone button and led progress bar are just a decoration, not used for this model (models using them have the same box, but not this one!)
Other: Would be far more useful if newer IDE drives would work with it. Anyway, it's a nice dock if you plan to have easy access to SATA drives or backup them.

Pros: Just works on WinXP-64. Hooked it up, and thats it. Seams S-ATA drives are limited to just over 20-22 000 kbyte/sek. Tested with a pair of drives (Seagate ST316002 3AS and Western Digital WD3200AAKS, 160 and 320GB) With a 2.5" P-ATA (Toshiba MK4018GAS) drive read speed is in the 15 000 kbyte/s range, and write maxed out at 8 000 kbyte/s. Not that impressing but that might very well be due to the drive. It's not that fast to start with. (It's partly due to being a 4200 rpm part) A 123.5Gb Hitatchi (IC35L120 AVV207-0) gets about the same readspeeds as the S-ATA drives, and write speeds are similar as well.
Cons: Performance figures have lead me to the conclusion that it's the USB<->ATA bridge chip(s) that are lacking in performance. 3.5" P-ATA writes consistently craps out at large files. When tried with a older, slower drive it fails after 25% and claims the drive is full. It's not, by any means. (Just formated, FAT32, 13.7GB Samsung HD.) This issue only affects 3.5" drives as far as i can tell, suggesting that they are using a dedicated chip for the 2.5" P-ATA rather then sharing with the 3.5" P-ATA drives. In theory this means you should be able to fit a "slim" 3.5" and a 9.5mm 2.5" P-ATA drive simultaneously. Older standard 2.5" P-ATA drives doesn't fit at all (Since they were 10mm and above thick. Up to 12.5mm i believe.) The powerconnector for the 3.5" P-ATA drive feels like a breakdown waiting to happen, and it's regularly tricky to fit a 3.5" P-ATA drive. Every card slot is of-center, or below the sloted hole, but those i got cards for, works. (SD/SDHC, Memorystick, M2)
Other: Cheap. You get what you pay for to some extent. It's a fairly compact solution to get 3 external drives hooked to your system, with fairly good cooling since they sit out in the open. Or, if your like me, and rip drives out of systems for work purposes, testing and diagnose, then it's a LOT easier then having a multitude of drive bays to fit everything in. If it survives a year or even a few, it's a great item. But thats just it. If... It feels real cheap. No weight, and very thin plastics. Handle with care. Great if you got a good purpose for it.

Pros: Tested and works fine on Windows/Linux. It'll mount all drives simultaneously without issue. Card slots and front USB ports that I've tested all work fine.
Cons: The 2.5" and 3.5" IDE connectors are in the same bay, so you can only have 1 or the other at any one time. The other 2 bays both have SATA connectors. If the designers hadn't over-looked this you'd be able to transfer data between any combination of the 4 drive types (2.5" & 3.5" IDE or SATA).
Other: Excellent unit, does everything I need. Very reliable (transferred over 1TB between 2 drives with MD5 verification and every file checked out).

Pros: Easy and quick to mount harddisks. Easily with SATA and IDE disks so no external cases anymore because i use them never together.
Cons: -> Bad power suply, power suply seems to be unstable. -> build quality feels week. on/off switch doesn't seem to work how it should be... still power on the dock but not enough.
Other: Too much money for a bad piece of shit like this! Watch out it is not a safe dock because of the bad power suply!

Pros: easy to install and use multiples functions photo scan, negative scan it's possible to use different types of hd you receive a card resader include with this and some computers did'nt have this gadget fast to read and write using usb 2.0
Cons: use of power cord external, but i understand that usb power it's not enough to use with hd.
Other: easy change of drives, only turn off and after put your new hd an

Pros: - Easy to install to the OS - Easy to install the hard disks - Provide all the cables - small, ideal for your desktop - great work with 2.0 USB
Cons: - It seems that it's going to break soon, is all plastic - Initially i was thinking that it was not working, but after restarting the PC and the device, everything worked - USB cable to sort
Other: Work correctly and his price is not elevate. In this version you can't do a hardware backup, but can do a software backup with the device software.

Pros: It generally works under WinXP. HD's are recognized and accessable. Power supply is good; no overheating.
Cons: CD is useless. Could only install one prog. No explanation of what the other files are. After tying to install another prog. the PC hang up. Powercord has a 3-pin British plug, so not useful for EU. Had to cut it off and mounted another. The 5,5mm 12V plug does'nt fit well. The inner hole is to wide so makes now and then bad contact and falls out of the device. Had to replace it for a good fitting one. One of the USB sockets at the front was damaged.
