2.5-inch Aluminum SATA Hard Disk Enclosure (USB 2.0 Port)

Pros: Does exactly what it advertise. But you better be ready for some elbow grease. Construction is good but with some catch.

Cons: White chalk like paint on mine.
Plastic in the middle is of low quality (hey it's cheap so I expected this)
HDD was hard to fit in. Plastic burrs weren't completely removed, so I had to remove it to fit.
The HDD socket was at an angle. Looking at the design, they're all most likely in the same position. It makes it tricky to push the HDD in place.

Other: It's a good buy at a cheap price. Don't expect wonders, I got this because I was after something cheap.
If you're handy with tools, this comes recommended. :)

Cons: Its hard to get the HDD into the Case
Screws are not the best
The screwdriver that came with the case is to small -> useless (but hey who hasn't a screwdriver at home?)
There was white paint(?) on the PCB

Pros: This is the only enclosure I have tried thus far that worked properly with my Conexsat PVR in combination with a 60GB Hitachi SATA drive. The STB can power the drive without extra power.

Cons: It was difficult to put together and the included cable is poor quality. While the case has an aux-power plug (not to be mistaken for the extra USB plug) it does not include a cable, these cables are virtually impossible to find unless they are bundled with another enclosure.
I am not sure the drive enclosure provides adaquate shielding

Other: It does the job I bought it for very well, I would buy it again without hesitation.

Pros: + Looks more expensive than it is
+ Feels sturdy
+ Good transfer rates, reading about 30mb/s with HD Tune
+ Works fine with my 80gb Hitachi 2.5" drive
+ Material is thick enough to protect the disk from impacts
+ No need for 2 USB's power on any of my computers

Cons: - Cover of this arrived bit warped, but it was fixed easily
- Screwdriver is almost useless (too small)
- Cable could be shorter

Other: Great and inexpensive hard disk enclosure with good build quality and sleek look.

Pros: Perfect little case I would recommend it since I could not find anything wrong with it. Comes with everything you would need to put it together and use such as a small screwdriver, screws, a dual usb cable for powering your drive in case it needs the dual power. I think this has something to do with the size of the Hard Disk Drive.

Cons: The "leather" carrying case that comes with it is a joke. They really shouldn't even put it in there because it just falls apart.

Other: Besides the carrying case this thing is a great buy. Don't let the carrying case fool you though it's well worth it for the case.

Pros: This allowed me to use my old 80gb macbook hard drive as an external 2.5 usb drive.
the style of this looks great. the black plastic inserts make it look cool with the metal outer casing.

Cons: no instructions, but straight forward if you look at the middle casing (where you insert your hard drive) before jamming it in.
would've been nice if the usb cable was a tad bit longer.

Other: this is a wonderful cheap and stylish 2.5 sata enclosure. if you have any spare hd's lying around, might as well get this and make those hd's to some use.

Pros: Very compact.
The USB cable for data transfer and powering the device is part (Y-cable-type). I like that, I keep loosing cables otherwise. Works fas on my macbook and acer aspire.

Cons: Nothing really. Maybe one thing: the screws for assembling it, are very small... Took some time to close it, but once it's closed it stays :-)

Other: Buy this ! It's really good stuff.

Pros: Works right out of box. Nice black color with a bunch of tiny holes in it. Feels fairly sturdy since the case is aluminum.

Cons: The screws were pretty small and putting them in was some what difficult. When plugging in the hard drive I had to remove the SATA interface because i couldn't fit it in there.

Other: For $12 some bucks its a decent enclosure and does the job well.

Pros: Looks cool, had to order more because all my friends wanted one. Keeps the drive cool, you can feel the heat radiate through the mesh. Fast as any other enclosure on here but much better quality.

Cons: Difficult to get drive in the enclosure. Once it there is 6 tiny screws to screw in. The provided screwdriver does not work very well.

Other: Compare the price of this to any other 2.5" enclosure. It's about the same price and this one will last much longer.

Pros: - Outer cover looks good.
- Build quality is decent. (better than i expected) :)
- Getting a data transfer rate of 28 - 30 MBPS (which is good).
- Works with my 200 GB 7200 rpm with no problems. :)

Cons: It needs two usb ports to function. :(
Other than that, i don't find any other con in this hdd enclosure.

Other: This hard drive enclosure is very cheap when compared to other enclosures sold in other online retail stores.
I'd recommend this to anyone who has an external hard disk that is sleeping in their closet. ;)
