What is Bulk Rate? BulkRate is a semi-wholesale system with items priced separately from retail. When you use bulk rates, a flat $1.70 registered air mail fee will automatically be added to your cart to ensure delivery of package. While BulkRate's intention is to offer cheaper prices when you buy in bulk, because it is priced separately it on occassions show a higher than retail price. That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: -It converts to allow laptop hard drives to be used on standard PC IDE cables. -good for people who like building custom computer cases and dont have room for a big hard drive
Cons: -No cons really except maybe the way the wires for power are just soldered and shrink wrapped directly to the pin headers so it kind of looks flimsy but i think its just how it looks and im sure it'll hold up
Other: What can i say its a simple 3.5 to 2.5" HDD converter it has no electronic parts so it cant really really be superior or inferior to other similar products except for the fact that its very cheap. I've seen these in a local computer store going for as much as 15 dollars
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: It's cheap Use any "laptop" hdd in a normal computer.
Cons: None
Other: Buy it if you need it, it's not very expensive. Buy it even if you don't need it just now, you will be happy to have it when you need it.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Finally you can get your laptops 2,5 inch disks easily connected to your desk PCs 3,5inch slot
Cons: it is a bit fragile.
Other: It doesn't brake if you treat it right. Cheap way to transfer the stuff from your laptops harddrive to desktop pc.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: -Very cheap and very small -Works great (I use it to connect a notebook hdd to my ps2 so that I will never have to worry about overheating even after hours (or days) of gaming in the hottest days of summer)
Cons: -Feel fragile, not recommended for frequent connecting/disconnecting hdds.
Other: If you need it, definitely buy it and if you don't need it (yet), but having a notebook hdd, still buy it (as it might become very handy when the time comes) for this giveaway price.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: It does its job fine allowing me to connect a laptop 2.5" hard drive to a standard IDE port.
Cons: The power cable is rather flimsy.
Other: The converter is convenience if you need to transfer data from small 2.5" hard drives.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Works as advertized, allows connecting a mini IDE laptop hard disk to a normal IDE interface. Connectors are nice and snug.
Cons: I couldn't find any.
Other: Get this if you have an old laptop HDD to connect to a PC.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Used for my project PC and it works fine
Cons: none
Other: good if you have a 2.5" HDD lying around and want to use it
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Ideal for connecting a 2,5" hard disk mini-IDE to a IDE port into a standard PC.
You would want to do this for accessing data of a hard disk on a dead notebook or a dead USB hard disk enclosure.
- very simple
- working great
- very easy to use
Cons: - none for the moment, I have used it occasionnaly
Other: Does what it's intended to do, and greatly.
If you have to connect a 2,5" hard disk to a IDE port, this little and simple convertor does it for little money.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - Small and compact, making it suitable for restricted spaces where other types of IDE 2.5" - 3.5" adapters will not fit.
- Inexpensive.
Cons: - The build quality is not the sturdiest piece of equipment I have come across, but this is no major concern as it seems to do the job anyway.
Other: If you need a 2.5" - 3.5" IDE adapter for restricted spaces, look no further - this is the one.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Practical for stationary use, not for testing purposes. So install it and leave it. I bought it for mini-itx motherboard. Looks solid and plugs very firmly. Most important is for me it has no PCB what is useless but most this type adapters have it.
Cons: None.
Other: Ideal for stationary use, not for frequent reinstalling. If you need one simple ide adapter, this is it!
