What is Bulk Rate? BulkRate is a semi-wholesale system with items priced separately from retail. When you use bulk rates, a flat $1.70 registered air mail fee will automatically be added to your cart to ensure delivery of package. While BulkRate's intention is to offer cheaper prices when you buy in bulk, because it is priced separately it on occassions show a higher than retail price. That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. If you are looking for wholesale prices please feel free to contact us.

Pros: - Just like aixiz - Have the diode, the driver and so.. - Strong wires - Back Open Lenses (the other SKU have enclosed lens, +25% power in this one)
Cons: - Hard to open, like the another SKU.. - Mine came a little bent to "inside", as like it got screwed too much using a machine (will be hard to heatsink as it is not perfectly round)
Other: Recommended if not going to be heatsinked. If heatsinked, need a lotta thermal grease Deal Class: HOT (4/5)!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: When unpacking, I was really surprised by the mechanical buld quality. The module itself (the cylinder) is made from stainless steel, only the lens holder is made from plastic, but also covered with stainless steel. We use 4 of them to mark the corners of the female mould while producing fiber reinforced plastic: works great.
Cons: Non i can really think of... but wait, yes, there is a small one (not really worth mentioning): On the label glued on the barrel, there the ratings are not marked :)
Other: Will buy some more!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Great build quality, focus works, enough output power. Well packaged. Product is easy to use just connect wiring. Pay attention to polarity i don't know if its protected in any way for wrong polarity.
Cons: No pull out protection for wiring.
Other: Great product for a fare price.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Build quality is excellent. The knob at the head can be used to tune the focus length in big range, and in focus the dot is quite small, although not nearly in the level of real high quality lasers (prices in thousands of dollars). The info label on top can be self-filled in case you change the actual laser diode inside the case to something else. Works directly with 3.3 V output from Arduino for testing.
Cons: No compensation for semiconductor laser beam ellipticity. While at focus the dot is nice circular spot, away from focus it gets very elliptical quickly.
Other: If you do DIY products and need lasers in them, this is a great one, even if you are not so interested in the <5 mW red dot, since this casing can be used for other laser diodes as well.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Good quality for the price. Wires long enough for most applications. Good , solid casing. Easy to use.
Cons: I ordered 2, one was bit off focus, dot is more like square and blurry at about 3 meters and couldn't focus it. Missing specs markings on both devices. No protection for wire pull-out
Other: Good for pointing at things, no so good if you need accurate focusing over distance. Fine choice for hobbyists because of the price.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Good price, small size, easy to tear apart. It's a perfect host for any 5mm laser diode, you can pick up any PHR, long open can red, or any diode you want, rip off the old 5mW diode and put your one there. focusing is good, acrilic lenses doesn't look to be AR coated, so even on a 405nm laser you would lose just a 20% of the power due to acrylic transmittance.
Cons: In my opinion there are none. Removing the old diode is a bit tricky, but who cares? Just get in there your own killer-diode!!!
Other: It would probably work out great for making a DIY laser and its cheaper than other ones such as Aixiz (especially with the free shipping - its much cheaper)
