  • Useful cable!

posted by phattsoe on 00:06:20 G11T 18/11/2007 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Cable can charge via the actual charging port (as opposed to mini-usb like the data cable) Cable can also be used for data transfer

Cons: On the psp-slim, while the charger does stick out a little when plugged in (due to the slim's ac plugin not being as deep as the original psp) - HOWEVER this does not affect charging

Other: This is the perfect solution for people with psp's that would like to charge via usb (as it is usually more convenient; we're almost always around a computer). It also serves a second purpose - for data transfer; this solves all the basic needs you'll have for the psp.

Pros: - Solid insulation; cord isn't flimsy - Can charge and data-connect through USB at the same time - Not too long and not too short

    Cons: - None noted

Other: A simple yet very useful item that will easily replace your default PSP charger if you frequently run a PC or laptop.

  • Wow, it powers a PSP!

Pros: This cable is really great. It allows data and power to go through it -- both can be very useful for a PSP owner. It's nice on-the-go if you have a laptop that can charge USB devices even when the laptop itself is off (believe it or not, some can do this!)

Cons: I guess it could maybe be a little cheaper, but for the price it is now, I wouldn't complain too much.

Other: If you think it's useful for you, go ahead and get it. You won't be disappointed.

Pros: It's great to carry around, instead of carryig the bullky AC adaptor.
2 in one, so you wont need any other cable for your PSP.
    2.0 USB speed.

Cons: It has a very slow charging speed:
    I have a PSP fat.
    * With the PSP on, it charges about 3% per hour maybe a little more.
    * With the PSP off, it charges about 30% per hour.
So you would still need the AC adaptor if you are in a hurry.

Other: You should really buy this when you know you dont have enough battery and will leave home, if you will play in front of another PC.

  • Good Portable Cable For PSP Gamers

posted by erikospeed on 12:37:41 G6T 15/06/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Support USB2.0 / Able to Charge PSP Slim as per Like Using a AC Adaptor / Transfer of Files was fast due to USB 2.0 / What more u need for a 2 IN 1 Cable like this ?

Cons: Charging speed wasnt the fastest considering am using a USB Hub to charge it instead of using those portable AA Chargers .
Charging pin still stuck out from PSP Slim by a few MM , wondering does it matter much.

Other: PSP Gamers should get this cable . Good Pricing with 2 IN 1 Functions . GREAT ! AM inteading to get more for myself / friends as well.

Pros: Beyond cheap for a cable.
Charges PSP while using USB data transfer so no need to have extra wires connecting to your pc AND ac adapter

Cons: Charger sticks out a tad from PSP tho not a big deal.
Charges pretty slow compared to AC adapter

Other: If you need a new charger or data transfer cable or even both get it.
it's a steal at the current price.

    Pros: +Dirt Cheap
    +Good Build
    +Nice and long
    +Easy to use
    +Normal data transferring rate
    +Free Shipping

    Cons: -Slow charging
+-Shipping took long, but after shipped it took less than a week to arrive.

Other: Great product for the price. The data transferring seems to be OK. But the charging is a bit slow. With the AC adapter charging is waaaay faster, so no need to waste time charging with USB.
    100% worth buying.

  • Good cable for basic needs

    posted by yoshisong88 on 08:00:24 G7T 22/07/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Works well as a data cable.
Decent transfer rate when connected to a USB 2.0 capable port (providing you have a genuine memory card that is capable of writing data to it fast enough)
Power cable capable of charging battery.

Cons: The amount of cable length from the split is fairly short. So if you want to plug in the data cable and the power cable at the same time, its a bit of a struggle, but it can be done. You can't run the PSP solely on the power cable like you can with the AC adapter (with the battery out), so you have to plug the battery in to transfer data anyway.

Other: Well if you need a data cable this one is fairly cheap. Plus it comes with the added bonus of a charger cable incase you need to charge ur PSP while you're out and all you have is a computer but no AC charger.

  • Not too great if you want to maintain connectivity

    posted by mug3n on 13:00:20 G7T 28/07/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Charges the PSP and allows you to access the memory stick via USB at the same time.

    Cons: Where do I begin?
First, the USB/power split cables are way too short. If you do try and plug both in your PSP at the same time you'll find that the wires bend quite a bit. It could've used more slack.
Maybe because of the short split ends, the USB connection keeps getting interrupted. So I'd go into my PSP, select USB connection, but the connection will disconnect every other minute so I can't transfer files well. You'd have to keep the PSP perfectly still or else it'd disrupt the USB connection even if you move the cable slightly. Very annoying.
Lastly, the power plug doesn't fit perfectly in the AC adapter hole. Minor inconvenience from an aesthetics point of view but it's alright.

Other: Cheap, does its job. I believe the slim doesn't include a USB cable, so you might want this. But for the reasons I mentioned above, you might be better advised to buy the more expensive cables (the 5-in-1 types for ~$7 on DX) because they seemed to be better built than this one.

    Pros: Cheap.
You can't get a cable cheaper than this nowhere.

Cons: Build quality is not that great, but for this price, it is AWESOME !
The cable length is adequate, but applying USB cable and Power cable simultaneously is quite a twisted task.

Other: Get it. Simple. PSP original cable costs like 14 $. Get this one instead.
