What is Bulk Rate? BulkRate is a semi-wholesale system with items priced separately from retail. When you use bulk rates, a flat $1.70 registered air mail fee will automatically be added to your cart to ensure delivery of package. While BulkRate's intention is to offer cheaper prices when you buy in bulk, because it is priced separately it on occassions show a higher than retail price. That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. If you are looking for wholesale prices please feel free to contact us.

Pros: - Does what it's supposed to - Very cheap - Nice to have the flexibility of a SATA port and and eSATA
Cons: - Can be tricky to find the right drivers (try VIA Arena) - Card has out of spec thickness, making it a tight fit
Other: If you need to flash 360 DVD drives and you don't have a desktop machine, this will get the job done on your laptop.

Pros: It works good. I needed to change the original IDE internal hdd to sata on my laptop Fujitsu Siemens S7010. With this PCMCIA card I made it. It's booting and doing everything what IDE drive did.
Cons: It is not SATA2 device. The chip VIA VT6421A supports SATA2, but it runs at SATA1 speed (up to 150Mb/s)
Other: I did this experiment to increase hdd speed. I thought this card runs up to 300Mb/s. Now my laptop is notionally faster, but practically I don't see any difference.

Pros: This card "just worked" with Win 7 pro 64 bit. The card was recognised & installed as a VIA RAID Controller, a really rough quick test gave a transfer speed around 80 megabytes a second. It seems a little fat, as others have commented.
Cons: Nothing really major that I can think of, usual terrible packaging & pointless cdrom.. I still don't know if you can use both ports, or indeed whether the esata port works at all.
Other: good buy, I may get another
