What is Bulk Rate? BulkRate is a semi-wholesale system with items priced separately from retail. When you use bulk rates, a flat $1.70 registered air mail fee will automatically be added to your cart to ensure delivery of package. While BulkRate's intention is to offer cheaper prices when you buy in bulk, because it is priced separately it on occassions show a higher than retail price. That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. If you are looking for wholesale prices please feel free to contact us.

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: It works great on PCs that have no serial ports or fewer than the desired number. Works a lot better than a USB dongle.
Cons: Well, I had to open my PC to put it in, but that's to be expected by a PCI card, I'd think. You need to restart even when software says its unnecessary. Will show you a LPT port in control panel, but there is only 2 serial ports card! Also, COM ports are starting to go the way of the dinosaur, so the future usability factor is questionable.
Other: Cheap but great quality hardware!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: This is everything it claims to be and works great. I've used it in a Windows XP and Windows 7 system with no problems. We used it for a older Wacom tablet. Its very small also and takes very little space. No drivers were needed for its installation in Windows 7. I can't recall if I used any for XP.
Cons: Haven't really seen any.
Other: If I ever have need of one of these, I'll come here to get one. I'd definitely use this over one of the USB to serial port adaptors.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Easy installation Works perfect
Cons: Driver CD was unreadable.
Other: Good product. Very cheap. No more problems with the USB to Serial adapters (jumping mouse because window thinks the GPS signal is a serial mouse) The serial interfaces will always come up with the same port numbering (compared to USB to serial adapters)
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Works great with industrial equipment which still requires RS-232 interface. The price is not too high and the build quality is good. Included drivers work with no problem with WinXP. The two new ports come up as normal COM ports and work as good as the built-in ones.
Cons: None really.
Other: If you need RS-232 connection, have a free PCI slot and no available COM ports - this is your choice. Or buy one of the USB-RS-232 convertors, but most of them don't work with industrial equipment.
