Pros: Literally plug and play using Linux Ubuntu Feisty Fawn. No driver installation required! Ports are totally flush with the notebook, hence they even look like they are part of the notebook. Cardbus 32bit performance is good, and having 2 additional USb 2.0 ports is really handy! The flush mount design it novel and I have not found any other cardbus USB2.0 that mounts flush in the socket!
Cons: no reals cons, just the USB sockets may feel a little flimsy, hence you must treat with care and not abuse it like you would a normal USB port. Also it may not work with powered hard drives without additional external 5v power source plugged into the auxiliary power socket
Other: Hey it works in Linux without any additional drivers. considering my distro of ubuntu is rather old and no longer supported, newer Ubuuntu distros should have not problems either.

Pros: > No driver required! (Linux) > Fits perfectly > Doesn't stick out. BIG ++
Cons: >Pulls out a bit too easy. I have to hold it in when I pull a plug out. Not a big deal, but making it fit in the port easier and having the USB slots a little looser would be nice
Other: Great product, I definitely recommend

Pros: Works out of the box with Ubuntu linux: tested with Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala.
Cons: Annoyingly, the card is shipped in shrink-wrapped plastic which can be a bit hard to peel off without a knife/scissors (which you don't want to be weilding around sensitive electronics). Apart from that, it does feel a little "plasticky" where the USB plugs go, but it works well.
Other: Cheap and cheerful way of expanding number of USB ports on an old laptop. Card fits flush with the side of the laptop = nothing sticking out that can break, looks like the USB ports were built in from the start! Nice!

Pros: This PCMCIA card works in Windows 7 without installing any drivers like a charm. Does not stick out from laptop frame, so it looks like it is original part of it.
Cons: Actually, only one - usb ports do not have enough power (need 500mA) to feed portable 2.5" hard drives without connecting included usb power cable from original laptop usb port.
Other: It's worth to buy for this money.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: inline, no parts sticking out
Cons: I pulled the card out once when I tried to remove a plugged in cable. Usb connectors are a tight fit. I don't understand the maximum power limit for the USB ports. The use of the supplied cable to add power from another USB port is unclear to me. How much did it have in the first place? (a USB soundcard stick worked)
Other: nice to be able to 'replace' bad onboard usb ports wihtou using dongles or having connectors stick out.

Pros: Works greatly! I noticed the USB powercable wasn't needed when using this product. Maybe with some devices that require high current from USB you might need it but overall I haven't noticed any problems when not using it. I have been using WLAN stick (N-draft) and USB HOST + card reader with it and there hasn't been any complications.
Cons: Maybe a little bit too tight USB ports. You need to use some force to get them in there and some force to pull them off while ensuring the card itself doesn't come out with it The USB powercable DC in slot is placed badly between the ports. Large sticks won't fit in with USB power cable but you might not even ever need it.
Other: For a bit above $10 you get an really nice PCMCIA USB 2.0 card. I bought this for my laptop that had only USB 1.1 ports and now the laptop is more useable without speed limit of USB 1.1

Pros: It fits exactly in my notebook's PCMCIA port and it looks like an original thing; data speed is good.
Cons: Some of my stuff (such as my wireless mouse) didn't worked properly in this device; I cannot say why, but it works fine on the notebook's original ports; the power supply is a bad joke, if a need to plug something that drains much energy (like 3G modems) I use the original ports. The connector is too tide at upper side and some things must be forced to plug in.
Other: What can I say? It doesn't work 100%, I think the rate is 80%, but, as I said, it covered my basic needs.

Pros: -works like advertised(almost)
-fits in nice and flushed, looking like built-in USB ports
-works with most devices: mouse,keyboard,USB 7.1 audio adapter,thumb drive(somewhat)
-windows recognized it as NEC chip
Cons: -have to use an AC to USB adapter to power it,still can't get it to work with webcam or USB TV tuner
-even after installing USB 2.0 drivers and reboot, file copy speed from attached 2GB sony microvault thumbdrive is very slow
-once,the laptop won't boot up with it inserted
-when pulling out USB leads, the device came out itself
-built quality is somewhat poor and mine was bent in the middle as they sent it but it still works
-came in a bubble wrap
Other: -if you have an older laptop with PCMCIA slot and have many USB devices that you wish to use without having to remove the mouse or the keyboard or the webcam or thumb drives,it'd be very helpful but don't expect it to work 100% but at this price, who cares...I don't...

Pros: it is cheap, easy to install, i needed no drivers for my windows xp laptop. speed is decent. it solved my problem, needed to connect external hdd to my very old laptop with only one usb1 port
Cons: non that i can think of
Other: would buy again, recommended
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: It installs easily and functions well. No need for drivers under windows 7. Improves very much the ability to use old laptops.
Cons: Hard to slide it in and out.
The PCMCIA port does not provide enough power for certain portable USB HDD.
Other: Good purchase.
