Pros: Looks exactly like the photo.
Holds a lot of energy, can recharge your ipod/iphone 3 times!
You can choose to charge it with the solar panels or plug it in to your computer!
    Easy to use, simple.

Cons: The solar charging does not seem to be very efficient, though the package says it takes 5 hours to charge completely, I haven't tried it.
A bit pricey, especially for merchandise from China.

Other: It's simple, it's still considered cheap and it works very well.

  • Good backup battery solar usless

    posted by madeinoz67 on 09:35:19 G4T 26/04/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: This is a well made unit and works well, I purchased x2 of these for my travel. I can recharge my iPhone 4 twice per battery. Another added benefit is you can piggyback these and charge them both at the same time. (I've also done this with both bastteries and my iphone all charged by the morning)

Cons: The solar panel seems usless, I've put this on the dash of my car and wwhile the LEDs light up indicating that its charging, they don't appear to charge. I've lefft it there for 2 days and the battery did not move one bar (led) so I feel they're pretty usless on the solar side of things
Does not work on the iPad

Other: well made and works well for the iphone 4 did not give full 5 rating due to solar being fairly ineffective

Pros: Its a good product and it works very well. Its very simple to use it and also to charge it.

Cons: Solar panel did not worked for me unfortunately, it does not charged for me, so i do not know if it is only me that i'm unlucky...
So for me the solar panel is useless unfortunately.

Other: Its a good product, it works great, feels very good. Its absolutely not a plastic thing or so, its a great product and i'm very happy with it.

  • Excellent choice for drained iPhones on the go

posted by xnavarrol on 05:06:26 G5T 31/05/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: It really works as expected. Full solar charge (at least here in sunny Spain) was faster than expected (under 5 hours) and charged completely a drained iPhone in about the same time.
Build quality, except on visible surfaces is solid

Cons: Build quality, although correct on connections and general solidity of the element has bad finish on the surface, with stickers that look as if they would fall off soon. For an iPhone companion, this could be a little improved.

Other: A really good back-up battery charging device. It also plugs neatly with an iPhone 4

  • Power On The Go

posted by SZTTME on 05:00:02 G6T 08/06/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

    Pros: - 2400 mAh
    - The Solar Cells Can Counterbalance The Self-Discharge
    - Good For Long Trips
    - Built-in Battery Capacity Is Enough To Charge More Than Twice The iPod Touch 4 Battery (930 mAh) And 1,7x For The iPhone 4 Battery (1420 mAh)
    - Very Usable Battery Indicator

Cons: - A Bit Bulky When Connected To iDevice
    - The Solar Cells Are Not Charging Enough

Other: If You Have An iDevice You Should Carry It For Long Travels.

  • Great Battery but solar not works

    posted by cat2000 on 10:34:44 G7T 06/07/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: The battery has a good quality
Allparts of the battery are durably
The device provides fast iPhone Charging.
My iPhone charges from 70% to 100% for approx 30 mins. It's good for me.

Cons: Seems to be didn't working solar battery.
I place it to the car panel to direct sunlight. It place full day on the panel but indicator didn't increase. Sad. I have bought this battery for trips, but without solar battery work it's not useful for me

Other: Great backup battery, but solar battery must be better

  • Buy it but be careful with it

posted by tangrs on 03:48:49 G9T 25/09/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: * Fast charging speeds - I went from 30% to 60% in less than 30 minutes.
    * Fits nicely in pocket.

Cons: * You have to be careful with it, my dock connector became lose and eventually snapped off - I had to solder a USB cable onto it to make it work again.
    * Bulky when connected.
    * The connection is loose and doesn't 'click lock' with the iPhone and slides often.
    * The charging indicator is bright and is a bit annoying since I charge it at night next to my bed.

Other: I bought it because my iPhone battery was failing and I didn't want to pay the $200 something dollars to get a out-of-warranty servicing. Treat it nicely and it'll be the best investment you have.

  • Little too big

posted by rodrigofontes on 06:54:50 G12T 16/12/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: I bought it to use on my iPhone 4; and for my surprise, it fits just fine even with my case on. It has a good power level that would give a full charge to my iPhone and also retain some charge.
It takes longer to charge with solar power, but you can also charge it just leaving it over your desktop table.

Cons: Not enough power to charge the iPad. And a little too big to be carrying on my pocket. You better keep it on your backpack or something like that.

Other: Awesome price, environment friendly :)

  • Worked well for about three months.

posted by antaresiv on 21:07:13 G7T 12/07/2012 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Convenient to use. Good for travel, a nice way to top up the phone until you can get back to your accommodations. A full charge is capable of recharging an iPhone 4 twice at most. I used it for topping up from 10% back up to 50% about four times before needing to charge it back up.

Cons: Connector stopped working after 3 months. Solar panel can't charge battery in a reasonable amount of time, perhaps if you left it out in the sun all day it might charge up a tick.

Other: Reliability is an issue, works otherwise.
