  • Suitable monitor for CCTV camera, general use

    posted by apollo51 on 19:19:20 G1T 06/01/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: I purchased this product not as a reversing camera but as a monitor for use with CCTV. Normally with CCTV you would have a whole bunch of cameras going into a DVR - but sometimes you just want to test a camera, or you may just want one camera alone. This monitor is good for that.
The colour seemed quite okay, the brightness and contrast are adjustable to a good degree, and it runs off 12V with a good margin up and down - and so will probably run off the same power supply as your camera.

Cons: A reversing monitor has the image reversed from left to right - just like a mirror. For General CCTV you do not want this! Turn it off by pushing the L/R U/D button - the good thing is that the monitor seemed to remember this setting even when the power had been cycled on and off.

Other: If you need a monitor for testing, or just a small screen for your CCTV, this is the one.

  • Really good monitor

Pros: Very good picture quality. Crisp and sharp. Easy to adjust. Two inputs let you conect two different sources. This means that you can use one source as DVD monitor and the second source as reversing camera. The monitor remembers Up/Down Left/Right settings for each source.

Cons: There is no power switch. I would like to turn it of completely.

Other: I was thinking of getting a second unit to use as monitor in a real mirrored micro arcade system. It would be so cool.

  • Perfect for rear view

posted by daveyamo on 00:39:28 G3T 27/03/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Price was amazing. Comes with cables exiting from rear of unit for better installation without visible wires. Mount allows swivel and tilt. Power automatically comes on when unit senses input and turns off when input ends.

Cons: Build quality is not the greatest. Small scratch/wrinkle in film on inside of screen. Has distance guide on-screen which can be inaccurate depending on angle of camera.

Other: If you're looking for a small display to use as a backup camera it is worth the low price. Mounted right near or above the rear-view mirror adds a very useful image of what's behind your car.

  • works better than I expected

Pros: buy these before they are sold out, or the price goes up ok?!?!?! quality is amazing for 22$ worked even when near frozen its 22$ and its a screen

Cons: had some problems with a bad wire in the cable extender i used so it doesn't deal with EM radiation very well

Other: I will buy a bunch more over the summer, maybe even use one as intended for my car; but otherwise, with the low power use, I think I may be wiring up my house with bnc / rca splitters and just have little screens for people to look at maybe even put one in the bathroom with a little speaker, for some tv or movie while I "think"

  • Clear Picture, but not so bright.

    posted by dnaraG1M on 14:02:44 G5T 23/05/2011 certificated customer

    Pros: Good price.
    Clear picture.
    Easy to connect

Cons: Adhesive poor; fell off dash several HOURS after install.
L/R, U/D not quite right for my use - had to mount
    upside down.
OK in truck as backing up display.....till you wear
    sunglasses!

Other: If used indoors, this would be a great display. Or maybe
some sort of shadow box in vehicle...???....
I can live with it, but wish there was a better solution.

posted by WuTangcl on 04:19:44 G10T 12/10/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

    Pros: - its small
    - real clear image
    - no on/off switch (for me a pro cause just install it on the keycontact of your car. that way you will never forget to turn it of and drain your battery.)
    - the option for rotating/mirroring is great to always get the image you recuire to line it up with you camera.
    - Awesome price for its quality. I will buy more in combination with SKU 50507.

Cons: - The swivel is a little restricted for my liking.
    - the adhesive tape sucks and fell off in a few hours. like other reviews said. a little supergleu did the trick.
    - indeed with sunglasses it is hard to see but the solution in my car was a small piece of sunscreenblock film. same you would use for blinding you windows on side of back.

Other: If you want a cheap good working set, buy these, you wont be dissapointed.

Pros: Easy to use. Have proper battery terminal ready for use. The display provided clear and unobstructed image. Excellent. The red, yellow, white cable plug are long enough for me to use.

Cons: Need to wire up to a power adapter.. only provided one negative and one positive battery terminal lead only. Have to put on solder lead to solder to car body terminal.

Other: Buy it. This is a good buy for the cheap price. I would consider buying another one soon.
