Pros: It appeals to me as a very well-built device.
The cable, jacks, and strain reliefs are solidly constructed.
Very positive "snap" to the PTT button, so you'll know when you're transmitting.
Cons: None at all. If I really had to pick something to nit over, it would be the plastic clip on the back. It's not flimsy - just not as tough as the rest of the mic.
Other: This speaker-mic works as advertised. Push to talk, and it keys the radio. In addition, a red LED lights on the front of the microphone when the radio is transmitting - regardless of if you are pushing the PTT button on the microphone or on the radio (at least on my Kenwood TH-D7AG). The speaker sounds just fine considering it's size. The jack on the bottom of the microphone next to the cable is a headphone jack. It is mono, so it only sends sound to the left ear of a pair of stereo headphones. There are no markings on the microphone, and the cable is 20 inches long without stretching the coiled portion. It will easily stretch another two feet if needed.

Pros: Bought this just to test out and found it quuite reliable. There are other suppliers locally where I'm located but these are cheaper bought from DX. Works as it should and the quality isnt too bad. Works on original Kenwoods and clones as well. The cable is thick and stronng and wont get yanked off easily.
Cons: The PTT button makes looud clicky sounds but its OK since I'd know when it was accidentallly triggered.
Other: Value for money and worrks the same as branded ones.

Pros: Works with my Puxing radios. So if you have a puxing, save some money and buy one but check below first. Much better audio quality than the crap mic's inside these radios.
Cons: The switch in my mic required a lot of pressure to actuate. In reality, during manufacture, a bit of plastic had not been removed when the back mic half was taken out of the mould. This was easily repaired with a dremel.
Other: All in all a good mic, except the before mentioned problem.

Pros: This is a very useful accessory. It fits both my Kenwood and Puxing radios and works perfectly. Puxings are known to be down a bit on the modulation, hence many people drill out the mic hole a little but modulation is improved using this microphone.
Cons: There are no cons really, the microphone feels a little lightweight and the coiled lead is a bit short and stiff. By that I mean that rather than the lead stretching you are ore likely to drag the radio if you move a little.
Other: You could pay a lot more money for something like this. If you a need for a speaker mic and your radio is Kenwood compatible, as many of the chinese ones are, then buy it.

Pros: I am using this item with my Wouxun ( sku.41983 ) and it works great! The build quality is excellent, the unit feels solid, the wire is thick and stiff (might be a con for some). It has a standard 3.5mm jack for an earpiece or to plug in your favourite pair of earphones (mono only)!
Cons: The cable is a bit short and a bit stiff, but both of these aren't really con and should fix themselves with time (the cable will stretch a little and become more maleable)
Other: Excellent buy, I would definitely recommend it to anyone with a Kenwood compatible radio. For this price you _cannot_ go wrong. You'd still wouldn't go wrong if it were 4 times the price!

Pros: I bought this for use with the QuanSheng TG-UV2 walkie-talkie, an excellent W/T also sold by DealExtreme. The most important thing is that this Speaker-Mic fits and works perfectly with the TG-UV2. The build quality is good. There are no defects at all. Even the red LED is perfectly adjusted, it glows when you transmit. The sound quality is reasonably good when listening.
Cons: I wish that the earphone socket (3.5mm mono) was compatible with stereo headphones; not for stereo sound obviously, but just to be able to listen using walkman style headphones or earbuds. But I understand that's not the normal standard for this application. But it is possible to make it compatible with both by using resistors.
Other: Price and quality are insanely good.
I've paid $60+ for brand name speaker-mics that are no better.

Pros: Price Sturdy build Functionality earphone jack
Cons: Stereo earbuds did not work properly Curled cord is a bit stiff
Other: WELL worth the investment of $5 I would easily pay 6 times this for a microphone of this quality. If you have a Kenwood compatable radio, get this! Even if you already have one, a $5 spare is well worth it! You can't go wrong.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Hard to say anything different than what's already been said - but If you've got a radio this will work with, get that antenna away from your head and start using this!
Works like it should, it's very light, so if you clip it to yourself your shirt won't choke you.
Cons: as others have noted, the coiled cable is a bit stiff - but i think over time that will solve itself..
I find the PTT button a bit "clicky", but that doesn't really take away from the usefulness.
Other: at this price? get it!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Good sound, sturdy build quality, transmit LED, solid feel to the PTT switch, has clip on back.
Cons: None. Although other purchasers have reported that the coiled cable is stiff, I have no complaints about mine. Some have found the clip a little weak, but I've had no problem.
Other: Wasn't expecting much at the price (under $6 !), but it worked first time and has survived without any problems at all. Can recommend without hesitation.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: lightweight, long flexible cable, everything fits. speaker is loud and voice is reasonably clear not in the description: on the bottom there is an 3.5mm headphone jack, so you can listen privately instead of using the inbuilt speaker
Cons: plastic is lightweight and cheap, it does not feel very solid. but it won't break easily, i think. big con was for me, that it didn't half an our of rain. water leaked to the inside and switch / microphone / speaker, none worked anymore. also, that could possibly cause more severe shortages or putting the transmitter on send all the time.
Other: Its good and cheap, but not very robust and thus not for heavy usage. I now ordered the more expensive KENWOOD mic, which hopefully can withstand a little rain.
