Pros: These cables contain a 56 Ohm resistor, which will cause most standard fans (0.33A/4W rated) to run at about 9v. This makes them a fair bit quieter, but they still move a good amount of air. It's nice to be able to slow down fans, while running them faster than by doing the "7v trick" (swapping the +5v and Gnd wires). Alternatively, they can be used with the 7v trick, but you might as well just run the fans at 5v in that case. Accept 4-pin fans as well as 3-pin. Decent quality connectors.
Cons: The PWM wire isn't passed through for 4-pin fans.
Other: Fantastic piece of kit! Buy some to keep with your spare parts even if you don't need them right now. If you want quieter fans and don't find sacrificing a bit of airflow, buy them.

Pros: Works perfectly - slows down 3pin fans that mornally can't be controlled
40c each!!
Good for making you HTPC (or even your normal PC) a little bit quieter
Cons: no cons - these are great
Other: If you have large fans in your PC that make too much noise these might be your answer. I'd only use em on 120 or 140 mm fans - if you slow down smaller fans they might not push enough air to cool your components

Pros: These make my fans quieter - YES - but for 80mm fans airflow drop was critical. Fans are virtually useless now and one of three 12v fans I used them on didn't start at all... I would recommend other - regulated solutions for fan speed adjusting.
Cons: nothing that I'd think of for the price given. you have the whole bunch of resistors for very little price
Other: Purchase and see if it works for you. You won't lose much it it won't either...

Pros: + High to medium quality components i believe, other than the pins that you might have to angle just a little bit before you insert your fan in there. + No naked components, it's all protected by shrinkable rubber tubes. + If you need to lower the fan speed some more, just stack them until you're satesfied + It's a MUST if you want a quiet pc with no fan control. Works great for 12 cm fans
Cons: - The shrinkable tubes that protects the resistor are often loose, but it really doesn't matter since it still covers everything just fine
Other: It's a good thing i bought 2 packages of this product since if you might need to stack 2 of these to make the fans go quiet, especially on fans that are smaller than 14cm

Pros: Works as expected. Some branded product of this kind (for example, "Z" maker or "O" maker) costs much more expensive by 5 ~ 10 times.
Cons: One of the set of five was broken, but this is not a big problem, considering its price.
Other: fans for servers are good at durability however their speed are too fast sometimes. this product can help with this kind of problem.

Pros: A while ago I found myself in need of some fan adapters, and ended up buying a bunch of 9.5v adapters in a local shop. Those cost me 2 euros each (!), and came with white connectors and a tiny sleeve over the resistor with nothing else being covered - pretty poor quality for the price back then, all things considered. They were also way too long for my purposes at 13.5CM. Anyways, I found myself browsing DealExtreme for a few assorted parts a few weeks later, and happened to come across this deal. I did not expect much for the insanely low pricing, but I was pleasantly surprised! The sleeving goes pretty much connector-to-connector with only about 2mm of wire visible on both sides, and the short length of the cable (~7.5cm) makes working them away cleanly inside of a case an easy process. The PWM-fitting male end of the cable is a nice touch too!
Cons: Not really a con for me, but... The ones I received differ slightly from the stock image, in that both connectors were black and there's only ~2mm of "exposed" wiring on either side of the sleeving.
Other: If you're looking for a solid pack of fan speed reduction adapters that don't drop the voltage down too much, these are a seriously good bet for a bargain price.

Pros: Ok so here are the pros: 1. The 3-pin speed reduction cable is cheap and it does what it says. 2. It looks nice (atleast to me).
Cons: Now the cons: 1. Like the most cheap products - the build quality. The actual quality is good, but those 3 pins are moving when you move the cables so you will need to adjust them when you are connecting the cable, but once you conect it, it will stand in place.
Other: I'm very happy with this product, it really made my computer silent, so if you need it you have to buy it !

Pros: Love it! A bit tricky ti plug for the first time but its good!
Cons: its 51om + - 5%! Its too week for me =/ The fan is still pretty fast... I connected 2 of these and fun just stop spinning! So i need something more than 50 om and less than 100! xD
Other: --------------------------------------------------- Love DX.com --------------------------------------------------- But i hate the 500 char limit! =_= But i hate the 500 char limit! =_= But i hate the 500 char limit! =_= But i hate the 500 char limit! =_=

Pros: Extremely Cheap, that's 40 cents per resistor. Resistors are very easy to install.
Cons: You might have to move or bend the pins a little if they are not aligned correctly
Other: Buy two sets so resistors, so you don't run out. I recommend this 9/10. The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.
