30mW 405nm Blue-Violet/Royal Purple Laser Module (3V)

Pros: - Build quality is rather good for such a cheap device - The diode is protected with compound at the circuit side - Potentiometer is present - Collimating tube is made of a sturdy alloy, not plastic - Main pro - the dot is much brighter than expected (possibly wrong pot position from the manufacturer but it's good in this case) even on the black non -reflective surfaces - 405nm seem to be real 405nm, not 400 or other near-UV, so the dot is very visible

Cons: - Somewhat odd polarity placement (probably adapted for AA penlights, not professional flashlights) - the negative terminal is the spring, and the positive one is a contact place right to it, labeled "V+". - No obvious focusing ways (thus the beam is quite divergent) and no collimating lens protection (it's very difficult to accidentally scratch it but quite easy for dust to get there)

Other: If you need an inexpensive but bright and compact violet laser module for a DIY project you can definitely choose this unit. Just take care to protect the lens and your own eyes. Good luck.

Pros: Have ordered 3 of these lasers, the types I received were different in construction. Thad did not border me. The output was about the prommised value. The LD itselve of the 3 pieces seems the same. beamquality is , as usual with these type of lasers, not near TEM 00 but that was to be expected.

Cons: The only real con is the GREAT DANGER when you are not common with lasers of high power, that is in this case more than usual. Your eyes have about1/2 percent of the sensivity , comared to 532(green) lasers but the energy is the same. So the weak looking beam and spot are in real high power and WILL BLIND you. This is not a con for this product but for all lasers only the real brightness is hidden for your eyes but the danger NOT.

Other: These lasers are not suitable for replacement the LD for a 455nM LD (1-1.7 Watt), the tresholdcurrent is already too low for running these extremely dangerous LD's The optics however are suitable for these LD's But when try to make these change , buy safetyglasses first. I myselve are pleased with this buy, but give a strong advise to not laserexperts, buy the green ones for the same price wearing suitable eye -protection. DO NOT make laserpoiters with these ones, the result will be disapoited and the danger will be underestimeted.

Pros: Very bright laser. Can shine about 100-150 meters. I am happy that i bought one, because it is very very cheap. My dogs like this laser. But be careful not to shine in there eyes. The cat does also like the red dot laser. Can't find any lasers with the same price in the Netherlands. Was shipped in seven days.

Cons: You need to press the button harder than usual, I am afraid that I am going to break something inside, which I don't want to.
