What is Bulk Rate? BulkRate is a semi-wholesale system with items priced separately from retail. When you use bulk rates, a flat $1.70 registered air mail fee will automatically be added to your cart to ensure delivery of package. While BulkRate's intention is to offer cheaper prices when you buy in bulk, because it is priced separately it on occassions show a higher than retail price. That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Good build quality: water resistant, solid housing, good "strong" mounting/clip system. The illumination is not as bright as more expesive lights, but enough for use in the dark (as opposed to daytime) and acceptably visible from the sides!
Cons: Unlike the description, this light contains 4 LEDS. 2 lo-power leds at the bottom, and 2 higher-power leds behind the optic lens. This results in a figure 8 sort of beam. The optic lens is pretty bad in itself, which results in a much worse beam. The strobe mode is very fast and could have been a couple hertz slower.
Other: Instead of replacing my PB superflash after I lost it, and my PDW radbot 1000 after it died because I used it in snow and rain. If this one dies, I'll just buy another one for 20% of the price of the big brands and I will be very satisfied again.

Pros: Very bright and has a reflector so the led seems bigger. Quality seems to be fair.
Cons: Not really 3W. If it was 3W it would drain the AAA battery quickly. Button is made from thiner plastic so it could be little hard to push. Rubber seal would be better.
Other: good light for the money but not real 3W
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: It has a very strong led light, maybe the strongest of this site. The clamp looks firm, and the plastic feels good and overall well finished.
Cons: The frequency of the flashing light is very quick, i think it may annoy the car drivers. There could be a steady light mode with the low lights.
Other: Really great tail light, altough the flashing mode flashes too quickly, should be slower. But it's worth the money and will make you visible from very far.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Bright, solid attachment, attention-getting (alternates between the lower-level and the bright flash), sealed and best of all, only 2 modes, "flashing" and "steady". Some lights on here force you to cycle through almost a dozen different flashing patterns just to turn it on or off. Includes the AAA batteries needed
Cons: As noted, it's *not* a 3w light. The packaging states, very clearly "0.5w LED". It's still one of the brighter rear blinkies here on DX, but a little truth-in-advertising would be appreciated.
Other: Good light and a screaming deal at $4.40. Just be aware that it's not a 3w LED. I uploaded a picture showing the packaging in case anyone's interested...
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: It is bright. Two modes - all LEDs blinking and bright LED steady. The bright LED really bright, that is, brighter than "ordinary" ligts with few "ordinary" LEDs that I have. Decent build quality.
Cons: Not 3W at all. Not even 1W. This is EXACTLY the same stuff as the SKU: 120031, I know what I say as I have got both. Both have marking "0.5W LED" on the package however in reality it is not even 0.5W. As I measured steady current it is about 0.2W.
Other: This is a good, that is, closer to top end, bike rear light at a really good price.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: It is affordable compared to the competition and seems to be just as good.
Cons: Does not include the mount for smaller tubing like bicycle racks. PB one comes with both types so it is easier to mount it to your rack. I found the adapters for around $7 but at that point almost better off buying PB. Hoping to find affordable small size mounts.
Other: Great light if you can live without the extra mounting options of PB or can find an alternative mount.

Pros: Main LED is very bright. Feels durable. Superb price, a very similar unit in UK cost 3x the price from the main-stream sellers.
Cons: On-off switch is a bit fiddley. It would be nice if there was a setting that had the small LEDs on steady while the main LED was flashing. This would give max battery life and attract the attention of other road-users. The small LEDs only function in flashing mode. Not sure if that makes sense?!
Other: Another great value product that is worth every penny.

Pros: These lights are clones of the venerable Planet Bike Superflash, and that's a very good thing. They have a very bright, 1/2 watt led with supplemental, smaller leds that have an erratic and very visible flash pattern. I don't know if there is a more visible rear light out there.
Cons: The mounting hardware isn't great, but it's more than sufficient. If you need anything more than a pocket clip, or a seatpost mount, you're on your own.
Other: Every bike should have at least one of these, and if you're serious about night time visibility, two or more. Supplement one of these with a few strips of reflective tape, and you should be visible in traffic.

Pros: Well packed (not a shame to use it as a small gift), very bright and more or less well build thing. I set 4 for quality but it's fair 4, not considering the price which is really cheap.
Cons: very hard to press button to on-off and mode change. I would prefer to pay couple of bucks more to have soft touch button. But it's not a turn light you have to switch often, considering you press it once at start and twice at the end of your trip, acceptable.
Other: funny flash mode like police lights - my some like it.
