  • Great LED!

Pros: This RGB is very bright and has a wonderful colour blend I used with a pic form Microchip to mix the colours and the effect is amazing!

Cons: It needs a heat sink if you use it at full power, it draws about 900mA(on my meter) when the 3 colurs are on. The only thing I don't like is the white colour that should result when you drive the leds with the same current: red colour is always more powerful, the white tends to be pink.

Other: For that price it's unbeatable. More, you can save more money if you buy 3 or more!!! Get them!

  • Very nice led

Pros: All three dies are quite bright, and the colors produced are nice and pure.

Cons: The markings on the ciruit board are incorrect! This led is common anode, with separate cathodes for each color. The markings on the star are a common - and +'s for each color, the + and - signs are mixed up!

Other: Using several of these LEDs could make great color controlable ambient lighting!

Pros: I love this LED Emitter RGB It give much light, more then I expected! The red diode dont need the same Volts, you can damage it fast!

    Cons: none

Other: If you need a controller for these leds, search for chromoflex on the internet. maby dealextreme wanna inport them ;)

Pros: Power output is as described. Colors are nice and pure. I am using them in my MoodLight projects. Not mutch heat at full power.

Cons: Led dices could be closer together for better colour mixing, when using optics (not big deal, if using difuser). For me would be bettr if they would be common anode (+)

    Other: Will by again!

Pros: nice colors, esy to focus (much better then ssc rgb, and you can reach much more bright)

Cons: unfortunatly it has a common anode, it can be much better, with separate anodes. You can't use it with serial connections

    Other: thats all

Pros: I never seen these rgb's for this money, this is a cheap RGB led and professional building.

Cons: fast heating, need sink or CPU cooler from pc.

Other: Bright, cheap, professional built, fast heat, nice coulers

The mix of the coulors is great!

    It works on 3x +
    and 1x -

  • Not bad for the price

Pros: Quite bright, as far as I know this is the only RGB high brightness LED available on the market. Not sure whether there is any other brand that exceeding this RGB led in term of output

Cons: Build quality is a bit inconsistence, there is some slight issue that the LED is not perfectly centered. Also polarity issue that mentioned somewhere.

Other: Buy it if you need brightest RGB light in smallest possible packaging. If you have some electronics ability, you can pair this to some led controller to achieve full color spectrum. Also, you can save more in price if you buy 3 or more.

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Nice and bright, decent color balance. Good price. Easy to heat sink. Colors mix pretty well w/o optics. Heat sink is electrically neutral

Cons: Common (+), and this pad is actually marked (-)!
The leads are actually holding the LED to the heat sink mechanically speaking.
Wish they came without a common and on a smaller disk or emitter only.

Other: Buy 'em, PWM 'em and make any color light you want.

  • Nice 3 color light

Pros: - Amazing to have if you have the right circuit to use this Cree LED. I recommend using the “ Multicolored LED Decorative Snow Ball” circuit if you don’t have time to design your own. You can just take apart the globe and rewire it so you use the Cree LED instead of the LED that are with the globe. I highly recommend doing this modification if you’re using the globe as a light. The Cree led is very well built and has lasted many hours of use.

Cons: - The problem I have encountered with this Cree LED is that the POLARITY are incorrect since the positives are negative and the negatives are positive which screwed up my circuit and wouldn’t turn it on.

Other: - This is a great product for any do it yourselfier since it opens a wide variety of project ideas instead of the need to use 3 leds to produce a wonderful effect.

Pros: Cheap, cheap, cheap! You can find the same LED for $45 (28€) from some european dealers...

Cons: As other reviews stated, polarity is mislabeled, it is COMMON ANODE, so you must design your driving circuit accordingly.

Other: Good product, you can't go wrong with these!
