4.3" TFT LCD Monitor for Car Vehicle (960 x 468 / DC 12V)

Pros: Large, bright, high-resolution screen allows you to view the image in finer detail. The screen comes with a transparent protection film on top, which you should remove after installation and before the first use. Can be attached onto the dashboard with the strong 3M self-adhesive pad. The detachable plastic hood protects against direct sunlight on the screen, although the display is bright enough. Has 2 video inputs for 2 different sources, with priority for one of them (if both are active). Image can be switched between "stretch" to fill in the whole screen and "4:3" for standard TV ratio. Display turns off automatically when there is no video feed.

Cons: It doesn't detach from the mount, so you can't hide it from prying eyes when the car is parked. The 3M adhesive is a very good and strong one, but it may become loose in high temperatures; avoid the top of the car's black or dark grey dashboard, which can get VERY hot during summer days. There is no way to select between the two video inputs. Input 1, if exists, always takes priority over input 2. This is by design, not a fault. The image flickers on and off for a couple of seconds when a video feed is enabled and the screen comes on. There is no built-in "memory" for settings; when power is cut, all settings are reset to factory defaults. My unit came in deffective - the backlight of the display wouldn't come on, although I could see shades of the image under a strong desklight. Being a curious screwdriver owner, I removed the back cover and reconnected the flat cable from the display into the circuit board connector. This did the trick, it was just a faulty contact.

Other: Very good value for a large, high-resolution color screen for car entertainment/rear view camera, or for CCTV/video surveillance. Mine will be connected to a network-enabled Digital Video Recorder monitoring the front door's bullet camera mounted in the peephole. I can see who's at the front door even from the kitchen or livingroom, or from anywhere else in the world via the Internet! :-)
