4-Port USB HUB with SD Card Reader for PS3 SLIM

Pros: It gives to new PS3s what Sony had taken out: 2 more USBs and a SD reader. It fits perfetly in the ps3 slim. It works, I've tested also with 3 USBs plugged in: 1external hd, 1 pen drive, sony eye webcam. Everything works fine.

Cons: It is black, but not exactly the same black of the ps3. A USB port on the side would be wellcome.

Other: You must buy it! 2 USB ports on our PS3 are not enough! Sony has to understand it. It is very cheap and well done. If your ps3 has an external hd and a sony webcam, then you need it.

Pros: Fits well, locks right in place when plugged in Matches console quite well Easy to install Works with most USB devices

Cons: SD Reader is iffy, worked once, then quit. Haven't made it work since Can't calibrate a Move controller if the Playstation Eye camera is plugged into this adapter.

Other: Buy it, love it but know that you can't calibrate a move controller with the Playstation Eye camera plugged into it.

Pros: Nice solid case seems to be made of good quality plastic.
Plugs in and works, easy as that!
The two lugs on the top of hub help hold it firmly to the underside of the ps3 case.
Nice flush fit with the front of ps3.

Cons: the two usb ports the plugged in were not fitted neatly / slightly bent towards each other, but still had enough play to fit neatly into the playstations two sockets.

Other: Solid little usb hub, shame is took so long to arrive to uk (4-5weeks).

Pros: - Works on 3.60 firmware!!
- Provides 2 more needed USB ports and an SD card reader.
- Fit is snug and colour matches.
- Buzz sensor, Move camera, Singstar Mics and a charge cord all worked at the same time!!

Cons: - It's a snug fit, so I wouldn't suggest taking it off and putting it back on too many times.
- It is working on 3.60 firmware, but who knows what future firmware will do to this hub.

Other: I'm getting another one for myself and another one for my buddy.

Pros: With more and more USB extensions to your PS3, only 2 ports can be too little. This litle extension works like a charm. It fits nicely in place on your Slim PS3 and you get 2 more ports...
And it becomes a really nice part of your PS3.

Cons: Haven't found any. Only problem might be that the PS3 games are picky about what you plug into what port. But port 1 on this HUB works like port 1 on the PS3.

Other: I'm really pleased with this thing.

Pros: Apart from obvious addition of two USB ports, the SD card reader is a nice touch for viewing photos from camera and backing up save-game files.
Fits perfectly and looks as it's a part of the console.
No configuring whatsoever needed.

Cons: Obstructs HDD LED a bit. Can be viewed from front and right side.

Other: Cheap, works as intended, looks great when plugged in.

Pros: This is a must-have accessory for the PS3...as other reviewers have mentioned, two USB ports just don't cut ir with all of the accessories available. This fits perfectly (it really wasn't made to take on-and-off, it fits so snugly), becomes part of the unit, and makes it trivial to plug in whatever you need. I admit, I haven't used the SD card reader yet (our PS3 is not yet a jailbreak unit), but am looking forward to using it for game save backups as we've standardized on microSD cards here, which will be perfect with an SD adapter.

Cons: Can't think of a one.

Other: Serious thumbs-up...this should have been built into the unit in the first place!

Pros: It came in 3 weeks since the day I ordered, came in excelent conditions.
THe instructions are in English, very understandable.
It fits very good in my slim PS3.
It really recognizes the port 1, 2, 3, 4.
I bought it instead of buying the ps3 dongle that cost between $35-$45. I needed 2 of these if I wanted to play with all the instruments of Rock Band.
You can imagine how much I saved buying this thing!

Pros: Having to charge your ps3 controllers via usb, then the ps3 eye, then the move controllers -- all connect via usb to the console. 2 usb ports are simply not enough for the advanced user. If you are connecting a pendrive / external usb port or using more than 2 devices sometimes at once - then this part is extremely useful. All 4 usb ports work well, the card reader connects easily and fits well. I have ttried it on a CECH-300x system, and the hard drive LED is still visible after it is attached (it does not have a wifi activity LED).

Cons: The only con is the build quality. I have tried the SD card reader part of it as soon as I got it. It immediately recognized my SD card from a camera, and showed the pictures on it. However while scrolling thru the pics, it just stopped - I took the card out, pug it back it, and it never again recognized the SD card. I have tried other SD cards as well, that work with an USB card reader, none of them are recognized anymore. I expect it is due to the usual not really high build quality - so maybe it is an easy fix of some loose wires inside or similar.

Other: Get it if you are not satisfied with only 2 USB ports on your ps3 slim :)
