Pros: A cheap and ussefull soldering iron for little / semi projects. The lightweight rubber handle feels good and it's not slippery. It heats up very fast. The soldering tip can be replaced. - 40 Watt power Good enough for all kind of soldering - 220~240 Volt AC (EU plug) 1.4m - could be a little more...

Cons: The handle gets a little hot...

Other: Nice and cheap product whioch can be used for many little projects. If you are new to soldering you will not regret it.

Pros: This solder unit does the job. It's cheap, light, heats up fast, has a sharp tip which makes it handy to solder small components. the power cord is long enough for my purposes.

Cons: it seems all solder units come without a power on/off switch. I have no idea why this is, it would be so much handier. no real negatives thus.

Other: Do buy it if you want a reliable solder unit. Don't know how long it will last, but so far it didn't let me down.

  • Comfortable Soldering Iron

    posted by Zanga2 on 03:33:19 G6T 05/06/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

    Pros: - Comfortable rubber handle.
    - Heats very fast.
    - Good for small to medium soldering.
    - Nice sharp tip. I have already used it several times and seems tough enough.
    - It is lightweight.
    - It comes with European plug (220~240 Volt) so nu adapter required.
    - The power cord is flexible and lengthy enough not to be in your way.

Cons: Not rely a con as this happens to a lot of soldering iron. After long periods of being on, the handle starts to warm up.

Other: - Good quality / price ratio.
    - Tip is exchangeable.
    - Lightweight and constructable rubber handle.
    - Good cord length and flexibility

The cord is flexible too ^^

Cons: Handle warms up a bit after use.
Smokes on first use, but disperses after a while.
I got scared! The cable said 300v on it! So I was scared to use it! but its not, so all good ^^
I need a plug adapter to use this.

    Other: Bottomline:
    - Good quality / price ratio.
    - Tip is exchangeable.
    - Lightweight and constructable rubber handle.

  • Good Soldering Iron.

Pros: Great cheap soldering iron, and it has a very fine tip that's incredibly helpful which makes the iron easier to use. Nice build quality, and quite compact as well. It's smaller than it looks. The chord is think and flexible which makes soldering a breeze

Cons: The grip is a bit too thin for my liking. Most likely not 40W, as it takes quite a while to get up to a usable temperature. Temperature could be a bit higher.

Other: A very nice soldering iron for casual, hobby soldering, but not use this to do any heavy duty soldering.

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Lightweight piece of tool, the point looks good and covered with tin, nice pointy. the handle gives some possibilities to clamp it or just lay it on the table

Cons: Cords of soldering irons can never be too long or too flexible.... this one is rather short and rigid even though it is not thick.
then for soldering electronics it may be a little too warm. I have not measured the temperature, but that is my gut feeling it will burn sensitive components.

Other: certainly for this price it's a good tool!

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Good quality and all round soldering iron. Userfull for a variety of metals, suits perfectly small board work (thanks to its thin tip). After a three month use there's no sign of malfunction. Better than more expensive one i have bought at my local store.

Cons: Fixed temperature. It became hot really quick, so use it in safe condition and on an appropriate holder. The handle can get quite warm after a long use (but it's not melting).

Other: Really worth the price. I'm really satisfied and the tip si lasting long than expected. Another Deal Extreme!
