What is Bulk Rate? BulkRate is a semi-wholesale system with items priced separately from retail. When you use bulk rates, a flat $1.70 registered air mail fee will automatically be added to your cart to ensure delivery of package. While BulkRate's intention is to offer cheaper prices when you buy in bulk, because it is priced separately it on occassions show a higher than retail price. That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. Pros: - it's really bright. it might not actually be 50mw, but i don't think it matters. a beam is visible in a pretty bright room, and the dot is dangerous to look at for too long. - nice focus - it can point out stars pretty easily. - module format & bare leads makes it great for projects. - i hacked together a very poor lens setup and still managed to get some electrical tape smoking.
Cons: - the supply board is connected to the module by just the pins, no slot or potting compound. i'd like a module to have a bit of strength, since it could be use bare. - it would be nice if it had a switch alongside the button. a module might be used in a cooled, continuous duty role. - this one's beam doesn't come out of the center of the lens. this doesn't seem to affect focus, but it could create alignment issues. - the lens assembly unscrews from the laser, but the assembly itself cannot be unscrewed. it may need heat or solvent to replace the lens.
Other: it's bright, plenty bright for star pointing and effects - but it's probably too bright for playing with the cat or giving presentations in small rooms.

Pros: * Very bright, subjectively about half as bright as my 445nm 1W laser
* Good build quality and components
Cons: * Not IR filtered as far as I can tell
* Wires are sorta crappy
Other: Good laser, good price, seems to be pretty good quality, mine might be overspec. Overall great value.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: great laser
extremely bright and you can turn the pot up to 80mw
i bought a c size battery holder
but havent yet soldered laser to it
(wires twisted together) better for long life
works even better on 6v but gets warm (warm is good)
Cons: wire are a little flimsy may fall off but easy to solder on new ones
Other: buy 1 turn pot up max put on 6v power supply and pop all those black ballons instantly
be careful not to cook the driver
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: The laser is much more powerful than I expected! I am able to pop balloons if I put a black dot on it with a sharpie. I have also been able to cut black electrical tape, although it does it slowly. Fit perfectly into a AAA laser housing that I had. The Lens part of the laser is also grounded (not just the black wire) so I was able to cut it off in my housing. Visible beam in lit rooms, but not in sunlight; not very visible, but definitely there. However, you cannot feel much heat on the skin. Seems to go for miles into the night sky.
Cons: The driver board is held to the diode with only the diode leads. I reinforced it with some epoxy, because pushing the button starts to bend them. There is a lot of light being emitted from the laser that is not concentrated in the beam. With a better lens, this might be able to be fixed to gain more power. The switch isn't that great of quality. Batteries die somewhat fast, and there is a noticeable decrease in brightness. You can't focus it very easily, as the threads are glued in place.
Other: If you want a laser, buy this module. You can't go wrong. Even if you're not interested in burning, its beam is extremely visible at night. Buy it.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: -You can really see the beam in night, first i was sceptical about that, but now i am believer :) -Really really brigh green point, i am pretty sure that its not healthy for my eyes -Its not mentioned, but you can actyally (kinda) focus this laser -Really easy to make pointer out of this module, just put - and + leads on to 2AA batteries serial, thats it! -This is laser module, so its not illegal in USA or Finland ;) -Was listed as DIY parts & tools -If you need to use this indoors, please use green laser safety goggles
Cons: -The leads arent soldered on, looks like hotglued in the driver board -I dont think that there are IR filtered ones, but i wont matter -Not sure about how long this laser will last, but still, for such a cheap module, it wont matter -The Leads will fall of if you wont re solder them
Other: Really nice laser, buy this if you like lasers, if you dont you should still buy this
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Before this purchase, I tried one with 100mW and confirmed that it is very light with such a low price. This time, I bought 6 of 50mW type ones, and all work well, too. To use as a part, you need only one additional wire to switch it on. It becomes on when the swith line connected to minus.
Cons: I found no problems. However, I am trying to make the focus spot more smaller, testing several things like to put additional lens. I do not have conclusion about it.
Other: I would recommend this, with such low prices and high powers. I like them.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Really bright lasermodule. I,ve bought this item several times. The outputpower in GREEN is not exagerrated. Often the beam itselve is TEM 00 and polarised.
Cons: It is a VERY dangerous laser. It has NO IR filter (I've tested this) so it delivers an unvisuable amount of infrared (1064 and 808 nM), a part of this energy is BETTER collimaterd than the green beam itselve. Measurements have been done with calibrated laserpowermeter and filters to determinate each amount of not green laserpower. Because this variates strongly per item I can only warn you that het IR amounts can exeed the greenbeampower many times (that's what propably pops balloons..
Other: When you have no experience with lasers , learn about lasersafety and begin to buy the 1-5mW type to get experience. If you have got the skills, this laser is powerfull enough for most experiments. Please DX, sell IR filters for these lasers, it is rather difficult to become them for laserists themselvers.

Pros: Great laser. The dot reall shines, and can be viewd at least 1 kilometer away. The beam is seen at fairly dark areas, and really glows at dark. I used 4 AA batteries, as for now it seems as if it does not Drain the batteries so fast.
Cons: As others said, the wires are not attached so good and mine Fell off after i moved tem a bit but it is very easy to solder them back. I think the button is fine, but it does heat after continuous use. If the lens are focused in a way it can burn stuff, so the beam spreads out at distance and thats a shame
Other: Great product, very cheap. Was shipped with the writing DIY parts and tools So there was no legal issues.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: very bright, you can see the beam in the light, it will pop a balloon if you put a black spot on it, and it an burn holes in a black trash bag
Cons: the leads are attached better then some reviews say but mine still fell off, nothin else bad
Other: great product, if you want to get a laser that wont set the house on fire but is still very bright a must buy, and be sure your pointer casing is the right size if your gunna out it in one of those.

Pros: Have bought 3 pieces. Quality of beam and power are GOOD Divergence can be optimised. Two of these lasers are TEM00 (95%) Beam is polarised.
Cons: Watch out, infrared energy 808 and 1064nM is mixed with the 532green beam, the 1064 has the same divergence , the 808nM beam has a big divergence and is not really a problem. (have measured this with professional laserpowermeter and filters and I have viewed the IR beam divergence with Night Vision equipement.
Other: For Scientists with huge apsirations and low budget , : buy several of these lasers, the chance you get a laser with Laboratory class beam (have to apply IR filter)is big. You can apply Tec 23 Centigrades for optimal resonator convertor efficiency (Nd YVO4/KTP) and longer life for the 808 LD.
