Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Really very cheap
good construction quality
painted in black, so matches almos every lens that you could use.
Cons: it doesn-t have focus confirmation chip, so focusing can be desperating, but this happens with all those kind of adapters. It's not a real con if you take into account the price.
Other: It's very useful and very, very cheap.
I don't need more reasons to buy it.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Its a very solid ring, nicely constructed, easy to use. Fits nicely on your lens and camera body. Mount points are easily found. Easy to remove. Easy to control focus and length. Its black. Box can be used as case.
Cons: nothing at all.
Other: I recommend this product and will buy it again.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Made from metall extremely cheap made from black material have a stopping pin, perfect fit on my camera
Cons: hard to mount on some plastic lenses(for example on my canon ef-s 18-55) no AF confirm chip(~4$ overcost) and no place for mount this chip
Other: Best choice for this price. You can buy it only for experiments with macro without buying true-macro-lenses, starts from $400
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: This ring made of metal.
*fits perfectly on EF bayonet.
*fits perfectly on front side of lens.
* build quality os very good.
* screw fro some bayonet adjustments (not really needed)
Cons: for that price - nonen.
Other: This is budget solution to turn every lens to a macro lens. For that price it is must try for everyone, who is interested in macro photography.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Strong built and simple to use Screw this onto the front of your lens as how you would attach your filters, then mount it up to the body as normal. As with reversing rings, focus has to be done manually.
Cons: No cons. Simple item that does the job well.
Other: Don't expect this to perform like a macro lens.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - cheap
- made of metal and not plastic
- all in all got a good build quality
Cons: - doesn't fit perfectly into my camera (canon 550d) and may need a little persuasion in the form of slight force.
Other: the area of macro photography is a wide and expansive area.
mounting ur lens backwards does have its advantaged for novice photographers and can help u gain experience in a cheap way.
that said, keep in mind that this is not the common way of taking macro photos and that's for a reason, the quality of photos using a macro lens and the ease of use are much greater.
i would recommend buying it if u don't have the money to spend on a proper macro lens
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: + It´s really metal
+ Easy to assembly
+ Easy to use
+ Cheap
+ Small, so it´s very easy to carry with you
+ Fast shipping
Cons: - You have to get very very close the object you are shooting at
- Can´t adjust aperture when lens is reversed. So you have to adjust it when lens isn´t reversed (It´s still very easy to use)
Other: If you want to just try macro or shoot macro seldom, buy this!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: I'was very surprised when I opened it!, it's really metar, aluminium? and it seems to be well done, and with quality products.
Easy to use, and very useful to avoid buy a macro lens.
Slim and easy to use.
Cons: Leave the other side of your lens opened and it's possible to be damaged with dust or sand
3 weeks to recive it
Other: To start with the macro photography very useful
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: It's well manifactured
Cons: The trick of reversing regular lens to get macro is decades long. But the trick is not in the adapter but in the lens. While this adapter is well made, I doubt that any of EOS lens are good for this kind of hack.
Other: As the adapter is not expensive you might want to play with it. Also, it's doesn't take much space in your bag so you can always have it with you. But if you are planning to spend a bit more time and effort doing macro you can get converters on a budget and get much much better results.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: The build quality is very good, the material (aluminium alloy) looks good too.
Do it's job.
Great magnification for your basic lens for adequate price. The price is quite higher, but the quality is very good, so it's fine for me.
Cons: Not at all.
Other: Well the price is right and quality is good, if you need it, buy it.
