5M USB Power-Boost Extension Cable

Pros: Longer than what I actually needed but works great with USB devices no lag. I currently use mine to plug in a usb pc dual controller there is no lag whatsoever. Besides the long cable hanging across the floor it's exactly what I needed. Very stable/steady cable doesn't seem cheap/fragile.

Cons: None it's a long cable that extends usb devices what problems could you possibly have with that. Price could have been a little cheaper. Shipping took forever so if you need to order one expect to wait about 3 weeks before you actually receive it at your door. And for some strange reason you have to sign for the package in order for them to leave it at your door.

Other: Extends usb devices whether pc controller, webcam, keyboard/mouse or thumb drives. No lag for my controller and I doubt if there's any for the keyboard/mouse either.

Pros: 5m USB Cable. Build quality seems good enough. Cheap cheap cheap (as always with DealExtreme).

Cons: Cable does not seem to support USB 2.0. When hooking up a device with this cable, Windows XP says "This USB device can perform faster if you connect it to a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port"
Not a problem for me, but please update the specifications of this item! The current one is misleading

Other: Good for non time-critical devices or limited data quantities.

Pros: 5 Meters ... long enough to connect the USB camera and use it as a navigation camera at my door step and the USB cable works perfectly fine for me.

Cons: Nothing I can think of really.

Other: Good price for such item that would have cost me twice the price here in Denmark ... I was not sure about how good it was otherwise I would have ordered 2 ... Bottomline is : Buy more than just one.

Pros: Good build quality, excellent USB throughput. Good cable thickness. Also works with bus-powered devices. I have tested it with usb to serial converters, usb sticks and spectrometers.

Cons: Exterior of the female usb connector is not shielded. Shielding it may protect against short-circuit in some applications. Other than that the build quality is excellent and the product appears to be well constructed.

Other: Excellent product for the right price. Always comes in handy.

Pros: Très bonne qualité de fabrication pour le prix. Fonctionne très bien. La connexion d'un disque dur externe fonctionne très bien, malgré la puissance demande par rapport a ce type de periphérique. Cable USB de très bonne section, inspire la qualité.

Cons: N'est pas USB 2.0 !

Other: Pas d'isolation externe sur la prise femelle, mais rien de grave, il faut juste faire attention a ce que cette partie ne vienne pas a toucher un autre contact.

Pros: good to use if u have items that will be used at a very long distance + or - 5meters away from your computer. I mainly used it as a extension cable for use with usb powered led lights

Cons: had a problem with installation on XP but does not bother me as it does not bother me that much.

I dun really think its usb 2.0 compatible

Other: generally i am pleased with the item though with the problem at installation but all i wanted was a USB extension cable and i got one at a fair price, so its all good i guess

Very good usb.
I tested it with my usb pen drive and with my printer. It works well.
All i needed is a 3.5m lenght but with that price i prefered to buy a 5 meter usb extension. Its a good products

Pros: Worked with every USB product I've tested (including flash drives, external hard drives, spectrocalorimeter, etc., etc.). Haven't specifically tested it for USB 2.0 but the data throughput was excellent. Excellent build quality. Has a thick, sturdy cable that is well isolated. You can open up the repeater if you wanted to repair or replace something. It won't open up on its own. USB connectors are of good quality. Works on mac and mickeysoft windows

Other: Excellent product. Does exactly as described and works with all products i've tested.

Pros: Works beautifully with Mac OS X, at full USB 2 speed. It is an extension cable, so if you add a standard USB A-B 2 metre cable you have a total of 7 metres of USB cable. It even worked well using a 2 metre extension cord and a 1 metre A-B cord for a total of 8 metres.

Cons: The USB socket seemed to be very loose, and the plug kept falling out. After inspection I found two small problems:
1 There was some glue stuck inside the USB socket so when plugging something in, the plug was very loose. I was able to use a small screwdriver to scrape away the excess glue from inside the socket, allowing the USB plug to sit deeper in the socket (MAKE SURE TO UNPLUG THE CABLE FROM THE COMPUTER BEFORE TRYING THIS!!!).
2 On the USB socket of this cable, the six small metal tongues around the sides were very loose, so anything plugged into it had a tendancy to fall out. After using VERY LIGHT pressure from my finger nail to press the tongues in about half a millimetre on all sides, the plug now grips very tight. Make sure not to press the tongues in too far, or they will break or interfere with the USB plug when you attach it.

Other: VERY HAPPY! I have a hard disk based media box on the other side of the room, now I can copy files to it via USB without unplugging and bringing it to the computer.

Pros: Pretty good cable. It's the metallic shield, with clear coating type.
Casing of the 'booster' seems strong enough.
It needs no batteries or adapter, it uses the 5,5V of the USB cable itself.

Cons: Connectors are a bit loose, but nothing too bad. A pair of pliers should do the trick.
You do get a little loss on the 5,5V. I have to use a powered HUB at the end of the cable, else my external HDD won't work. But the WLAN USB dongle I bought the cable(s) for works fine without a pHUB.

Other: I bought it because I need to get my WLAN USB dongle (SKU 20160) outside the building. Reception is terrible inside. First I tried with a long antenna cable, but it has too much loss. Now I get excellent reception, even with the standard antenna of the SKU 20160.
I'm very happy with my cables. If I had to buy them here I would have paid about 5 to 6 times as much, for virtually the same cables.
