5mW 405nm Blue-Violet/Royal Purple Laser Pen (2*AAA)

Pros: ++ cool color!

Other: It's a cool color - while more and more people own green lasers, this one is still very special. The color looks quite a bit strange and interesting, since its on the edge of visibility. Fun to point at fluorescent things.
However, due to it's special color, it is not very bright and thus not very lucid in a bright room.

Pros: A great laser, very different from the usual green. No I.R. which makes me feel safer. It is bright enough to see the beam weakly at night; it travels a long way. The spot appears unfocused but its just the wavelength. Charges glow in the dark things, sometimes it seems blue, sometimes purple it depends on the surface.

Cons: Mine jingles funny, something is loose inside it. It was priced a little high.

Other: Worth buying if you like lasers

Pros: bright enough for presentations, works well, batterys last for a long time...

Cons: as its chinese, using it is maybe a little risky because nobody knows how many mW this laser really has. especially pointed at white surfaces the dot geht quite bright, so i played around with this thing by now, maybe ill use it next week in a presentation...

Other: price is hot, quality is good.

Pros: This thing might look unfocused, but that is because of the color - this can pop balloons, with a magnifying glass and a steady hand. - when it warms up you can see the beam.

Cons: mine laser came with a loose button and, where you screw it together, in the middle... Well mine goes a little farther than its supposed to, but that doesnt matter, i have a laser that pops balloons. :)

Other: Get this you wont regret it. this a awesome laser, even if you just want it to show off. you wont regret it.

Pros: Inexpensive way to purchase a 405nm violet laser pointer. I've seen sites sell the equivalent for 5x as much as you find them here, and these are just as nice. It looks pretty bright even on surfaces which do not fluoresce. I accidentally left this thing on for a while (something was on the button), which depleted the batteries, but it works just fine after a replacement; so no damage done.

Cons: The measured 13mW I got on mine might be a con if you're concerned about accidentally blinding yourself.

Other: Great violet laser pointer that people in the US can purchase. It sure beats finding low-powered diodes and mounting them yourself.

Pros: Bright, powerful and cheap. Can make things glow. Beam can be seen in a dark enough environment. Uses AAA batteries which are available everywhere. Came with batteries.

Cons: Mine makes noise like something is loose inside. If you hit yourself in the eye its not good. Not amazing build quality but for this price what do you expect?

Other: A great laser, even better if you have a wall with glow in the dark paint on it, (think glow on the wall art.)

Pros: Its an okay Laser for first time users. It is very bright on White surfaces It has more that one colour! It is Light Blue Flourcent coulout when you shine it on white surfaces and it is Purple on mostly on any other colour.

Cons: When it is Purple it is a very dull dim light which made me very sad :( The packaging had 2 batteries that wernt even in the holes!

Other: Its price is a little bit high but it has more than 1 colour.So you can experiment with several objects! Buy it.

Pros: Inexpensive Eye-catching Purple! Legal (in USA) Looks like it has headroom for modding AAAs, always nice Amazing fun with glow in the dark toys!

Cons: Quite dim and fuzzy compared to green laser, but that's the nature of the 405nm beast. Really a purplish-blue, if that matters to you.

Other: I'm very pleased to complete my RGB laser collection with this puppy. (OK, not COMPLETE, really, but at least I now have one of each.)

Pros: This laser is a very unique blue/violet color. The color is hard to describe, but it is similar to the light emitted by various "UV" LED gadgets, and I imagine its laser diode is driven by similar hardware. In a world stuffed full of people waving around dollar store red laser pointers (and an increasing number of people waving around green laser pointers) this purple color is refreshingly unique. I haven't seen anyone anywhere selling lasers of this color. (The Blu-Ray derived blue lasers, while also being much more expensive, are a different color.) The laser beam also contains enough near-UV to make fluorescent and glow in the dark items light up. Using the laser beam you can actually DRAW on glow in the dark surfaces like posters, and the path you doodle will glow for quite some time. Construction quality is quite good, and about on par with my "executive" Radio Shack red laser pointer which cost about ten times more (ten years ago).

Cons: The blue/violet color is on the edge of the human eye's sensitivity range, so the dot appears much dimmer than competing red or green 5mw lasers. I would rank the apparent brightness about par with a cheap "5mw" red laser from a discount store, but if you shine the dot at a fluorescent surface (most white pigmented surfaces like white wall paint and white clothing are fluorescent) the dot lights up spectacularly, even visible in direct sunlight in most cases. My unit arrived with the batteries rattling around loose in the box, not taped or secured down, and while knocking about in transit they scratched the finish of the pointer.

Other: This is an excellent and for now very unique plaything. It is certain that no one in your area has ever seen a purple laser before, and shining it at UV reactive surfaces is tons of fun.

Pros: This is a great laser. it came with every thing need to use it and is pretty bright
blue on some white things and violet on others
it has a very bright beam that you can see for a long ways
most people havnt seen a blue laser so its fun
also cool how it leaves a trail on glow in the dark stuff
