Pros: This type of magnifier costs very much money and the price of Dealextreme.com is a nice price. + great price! + good quality lens; + simple, works everytime; + standard type of batteries (2xAAA); + realy compact and comfortable; + good in the hand; + presence of backlight.

Cons: - backlight is not so bright as I expected, but this even not a cons :) - the build quality could be better; - button works with some difficulty.

Other: Nice price, nice thing. Does what it says. Buy it and enjoy it. Recommended.

Pros: good size, common batteries, really useful illumination. The lens appears to be of good quality. Magnification is about right.

Cons: Slightly heavy, switch is stiff. The finish is chrome on silver plastic.

Other: If you have a magnifier lit by incandescent lamps or nothing, throw it away and get this, once you use this one, you won't want to ever use the old one again.

Other: If you are an elderly geezer who can no longer read the alphanumerics on an IC or see the colour bands on a resistor this is great. I haven't used it to torture animals, and neither should you. Even our insect friends have a right to go about their business without some brat setting them alight. But this digression is irrelevant: this is a handy device, cheap as all get up. Use it to examine body hairs or other hobbies.

Pros: The magnifier has 6 LEDs on the periphery, so, unlike the traditional one-lamp-lighted loupes, it evenly distributes light over the object that you are trying to view. That's especially helpful when viewing a flat object, such as a book page. The LEDs provide soft light that won't blind you if accidentally reflected off something. The light's intensity seems to be just right with a pair of NiMH batteries. The grip is convenient. The switch is placed in just the right place to be operated with the thumb without having to look for it.

Cons: * The battery compartment is too easy to open accidentally. * The box claims 6× magnification, DX claims 4× magnification, but it actually magnifies only about 1.7 times before going out of focus. * Larger than it needs to be. * No cover to keep the dust off. A faux-leather pouch would have been great.

Other: This is a good large magnifier, with heavy glass lens of fair quality. It works well and the light is convenient. Just don't expect it to have a 200lm throw or to be able to see atoms. There are more specialized devices for those purposes.

Pros: Made of glass. The LED gives a smoth well spread light. Generally a good design

Cons: The only negative thing I can say is about the on and off switch. It has a cheap plastic feeling.

Pros: fits nicely to hand, magnification is pretty nice. build in LEDs are bright enough with fully charged batteries

Cons: the cover of batteries is very unstable. mine will come off when i try to turn the light on. also the switch is a little bit odd. it has 3 positions. top - stronger light, middle and very unstable is OFF, and bottom - lower light power. sometimes it's hard to turn it off, it keep switching between 1. and 3. position
