Pros: - The 1W led is very bright without consuming too much power
- Nice build quality. The head lamp assembly is rubberized and is fairly water resistant (nice twist and pry mechanism).
- The elastic will last quite some time I thing, but can easily be replaced (see cons)
Cons: - The charger doesn't seem to work and the batteries are worthless. DX please sell this item without them!
- The headband is short (not so much of a problem for me and it could be replaced)
- The 5mm led are too dim
- Head-mount is a bit weak, something a bit stronger (as some mentioned instead of the nice box or crappy charger? ;) would be better
- Rear (and even front) red leds are worthless, seen the same model with battery indicator instead, would be much more useful!
For the above (mostly the charger and batteries) this gets a 3 on build quality and usefulness. It's a shame because it's very close to a 5.
Other: I will be modding this lamp to use a pack of sku.5790, a modded sku.6105 for charging the pack and sku.32751 and sku.32752 for wiring all of it. Should give a runtime of over 12h on high using two 18650 in parallel. Keep up with the mod in the threads and make sure you have a look at my pictures.
Bottomline: This is a fantastic headlamp if you are willing to spend some time modding it!! Get it if you are a headlampaholic ;)

Pros: - AA batteries last nearly three times longer than AAA.
-Even weight distribution.
-Good throw.
-The lens assembly removes with just a bayonet mount. It seems to be well water resistant even with no O-ring; the rubberizing creates a light seal where the two body halves meet and the switch and lens are completely sealed in it.
-The battery charger can charge 1-6 batteries. I don’t think it’s really 6 independent channels but it can charge any number of batteries.
-The build quality is fantastic for a cheap light.
Cons: -The main light is very tightly focused so the hotspot is very bright but the spill is not.
-There was an O-ring but it was very thin and broke when I opened the light
-The headstrap is too short. Even at maximum length it gets uncomfortable wearing it for extended time.
-The included batteries’ are useless with capacities are under 700mAh and one was only 300mAh (as tested in a LaCross BC-900).
-The 5mm LEDs are very blue and dim and the way they are mounted in the housing makes them glare badly in my eyes rendering them pretty useless.
Other: This light has so much potential but unfortunately looks a lot better on paper than it performs in real-life.

Pros: bright main lamp with small but intense spot. spill area is dark and could use more light. there are three intensity levels but are not that noticeable to me. main lamp light is white without any noticeable color tint.
the three basic leds okay for nearby work but significant bluish/purple tint. can use one, two, or all three basic leds.
Cons: red leds in front and in back of battery pack are not used by me, but can be useful for someone riding in dark traffic.
included batteries are very light and low capacity. charger did not work for me. tried charging included batteries for 48 continuous hours with included charger without reaching full charge state. guess they gave me 220v unit when really i am in North America with 110V.
Other: good for temporary hands free work using one, two, or all three basic leds. avoid looking at bluish light for long time because of damage to eyes from blue light. main lamp good for looking around further out with its bright white light spot but more light in the spill would make this headlamp even better.

Pros: Very bright liked the feature our having red led with brighter main light on for safety. Seems to last a long time with AA batteries better than those other lights that use AAA. Too bad the charger never worked in North America. I use it for Search and Rescue and so far impressed with the brightness. Build could be tougher but good light for the value.
DID NOT like the transparent housing on the backside of the light, it caused a glow and glare on my glasses. Taped it over with some black tape and worked much better.
Charger never worked. The batteries are cheap and can be charged with different charger but too bad the charger didn’t work. Nice packaging.

Pros: -Three levels of main LED :High :Medium :Low -Five levels :One :Two :Three :Red :Red flashing
Cons: The quality is ok. I believe it is water proof, as have been out in the rain and its worked fine. The red LED's could be a little brighter as this would make it excellent for night time searches.
Other: Don't go past this unit!! excellent value
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Lamp and battery holder seems very good quality.
Not the same as the poor batteries: only 400 to 300mAh! as tested on my BC900 .
and the charger.. what an horror! written to charge 3 (rapid) or 6 (low)batteries. The charger had arrived disjointed. As i dismount to rejoint it, i had a horror vision on inside electronic part. NO REGULATOR, only just 2 diods and 3 resistor ! not able to charge correctly any batteries !
Cons: Do not use this false battery charger ! it will destroy your ni-cd or ni-mh batteries !
Lamp had a cree mc-e led, with thin angle, to light far on front. the 3 little leds light like an old Tikka.
not so good to cave... just a lamp for camp or biking, or anything else
Other: what i wrote upper

Pros: - A bright white main light for long distances - A less bright white secondary lights for reading or close distances - Red lights for temporary use in dark when you don't want loose your dark sight or to warn someone in front or behind you when you're driving a bike. - Charger actually works with 230VAC input
Cons: - Batteries... They are so light.. Compared to mine good regular rechargeable batteries and they weight at least 3 times more! They most likely have a lot less capacity or they don't have any kind overheating / overload / or at least short circuit protection (inner resistor) - Charger
Other: Lamp is nice but I would replace batteries, they won't last too long in the wild and the quality is not too promising.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - Bright main LED with narrow beam
- 3 smaller LEDs for close distances
- all easily dimmable
- red leds for night vision mode
- good build quality of the lamp and battery case
- seems really waterproof
Cons: - poor battery charger
- poor batteries
Other: Good lamp, worth the money. But poor batteries and charger.

Pros: Bright main light, focused with some good spill. Easily shines over 200 feet and gives you usable light at that distance, even up to 250 feet. You can see objects at that distance quite well.
Good light modes of High, Med and Low, even when fully dim it's still bright enough to see well while conserving battery life even more.
Batteries last a LONG time in this light. Have not changed the batteries since I've had it in nearly 2 months even while playing with and using it a lot. Been on several hours long bike rides at night with it, rechargeable AA Energizers still have 1.28volts. Probably have 5-6 hours of total time on them and still showing no sign of being drained...nice!
Well made, battery case is very good and easy to access. Case is well made, opens easily with the flp of the tab but secures well and is made of strong, thick well made plastic. It's comfortable to wear though a bit tight for my head, have to stretch it out for a while at first.
Smaller LED's are good for very low light applications like reading, not wanting to wake someone at night, etc. Has flashing and steady RED LED modes and the RED LED in the back of the battery case flashes as well which is great as it's akin to a flashing red bike light on your head.
Either lamp can be turned off anywhere in their mode by holding down the button for 1 second or so and it will just shut off. Many other lights force you to cycle through ALL the modes to turn it off.. this one does not which is something I discovered on my own, not sure if that's in the instruction manual or not.
Cons: As others have mentioned, the batteries and charger suck, in fact my charger did not even WORK. Fortunately I have several others so I was not concerned about that, but still it SHOULD come with a working unit. DX should complain to MagicShine who makes this to send them WORKING units and DX should be testing these out as well and not send such units out to customers that do NOT work.
If someone is relying on the batteries and charger for this light, then they're going to be a might ticked off and that's not fair or right as you ARE paying for a working unit. They could at least make sure the recharger powers ON before sending it out and send you some decent batteries at least, even if they're not Duracell, Energizer or Sanyos.
Buttons are too close together and difficult to find. It has 2 buttons, one for the main light and another for the lesser LED's. They're right next to each other and can be tough to find. They should have been further apart.
Also the up and down mechanism of the light has the usual plastic clicky tabs. They work well and hold the light well as the headlamp itself is very light, but when it's all the way up, there is some play there and it drops down a bit..not much but just enough to where you're sometimes forced to tilt your head back while bike riding to see further ahead, which can cause some neck strain too. But overall the angle adjustment does work quite well, it's only an issue when I'm biking, other than that it's great.
Other: Overall, the light itself is great. I've used it to work on the car, looking for things in the backyard and many bike rides at night as mentioned and my 2300ma rechargeable Energizers are still gong strong
If you're looking for a great light with a nice beam, quite bright with good distance and some spill with great long run-time, then grab yourself one of these. Many headlamps use AAA batteries which are less than half or sometimes 1/3rd of the ma rating of AA batteries. For that reason this lamp can be very useful when camping, on an extended night trek or during a long term blackout or power outage of any kind.

Pros: +Price
+Strong light (in the cave I use only 50% power)
+Long battery life (I have same batteries 3 month)
+Looks really waterproof (I have not tried)
+Rubber coated cell (easy to clean)
Cons: -Small buttons (problem turn on/off with gloves)
-In the cave unnecessarily red LEDs
Other: Highly recommended for cavers. For this price do not buy anything better. I am very satisfied. I use it about 3 months in various caves. Super choice.
