60ft Ultrasonic Tape Measure With Laser Pointer

Pros: It's a real instrument, I wanted something like that for quite a while but they are quite expensive locally (starting from $200). It really looks good and works as advertised. It has an English manual. I had to do some work at the office (adding a couple of computers to the network) and this thing made measurements a breeze. It can also calculate area and volume. It's a good thing to have at home and it's much easier than a measuring tape.

Cons: Unline a measuring tape, it won't work too well if you want to know the distance from, say, a corner of the room because it uses sound to measure distance (pretty much the way bats do it) and the sound will reflect from the corner the wrong way. But the pros overweight the cons for me.

Other: It's a well-built instrument anyone should be glad to have, I can tell you it's not fair it costs so little. It could easily cost $150. Thanks to DX for the incredible price!

Pros: Easy to measure distances Large screen Takes a good ole 9V battery

Cons: Got a few "error" msgs, not sure why A bit bulky

Other: I do a lot of measuring around the house, and wanted this. I am happy with it so far.

Pros: Very very cheap, impressed some of the architects I work with. Simpleish to use, assuming you can hold it flat

Cons: Seems to undermeasure the distance, but still fairly useful, we would not use it for profesional survey.

Other: Very good for the price, but pountless for proish use. On a measure of 2.38 known distance, this read 2.32. this is ok, on reading of 1.7, this read 1.67, reading above this are around the same tolerance.

Pros: Accurately measures distances (although can be off my 1mm at times ) Comes with good clear English instructions Easy to use It can so simple calculations like volume & area and addition & subtraction

Cons: Will not measure accurately inside cabinets (or really confined spaces)
Will get an error reading when using it on distances less than 40cm
Cannot measure between fence posts as the posts are too narrow to bounce back the ultrasound - has to be a solid flat object like a wall

Other: Really cheap and worth getting.

Pros: It saves time when measuring large places, specially when you are alone.
Easy to use functions as memory, area and volume.
The blue light panel is very cool.
The laser helps pointing places for instructions, but not to accurately check where the ultrasound is reflecting.
Very cheap.

Cons: The laser doesn't indicate the real spot where the ultrasound goes, so if you're not aware of it you can get a wrong measure reading.
The built quality isn't great but is OK.
The ultrasound sensor is so small that causes an error when the opposite wall isn't paralel to the measurer, because the ultrasound reflects out of the sensor.

Other: If you need an ultrasonic measurer buy it, it's very cheap.

Pros: The equipment is very light and very well built, has a good finish and the price is very low compared to the options I found.

Cons: The device does not disconnect as it is in the instructions, I have to remove the battery whenever I save.
in some cases the measures that appear are not exact.

Other: It's a nice toy, can be used in some studies but nothing that requires exact measurements. It's very annoying to have to take the battery out every time you want to save the product.

Pros: - It is nice technological device for a low price! - It is pretty accurate, for my surprise! - It has some useful additional functions, like memory for three results and some math functions. - Laser helps aiming. - Screen with backlight.

Cons: - Not convinient battery type. - Laser works too short time after pressing a button. - Problems with some kinds of surfaces. - Its hard to aim horizontally. Width of measuring too big. For example, if there is two surfaces, one closer to you and the other farther, and you try to measure farther one, you can easily get result for closer one instead.

Other: Good device. Accuracy according to my tests 1 sm. It measures from it's back side.

Pros: It is very cheap....in my country a similar branded one costs at least 100 $ Mine works fine and does everything it says it can do. The laser is very usefull....i saw one withouth the laser and you never know where you are pointing.

Cons: Looks very cheap and seems fragile. The plastic case is made of thin and poor quality plastic.

Other: It's a very usefull device for a very low price.

Pros: Works very well. I test from 50cm to 10m (but the limit is 60ft), and it seems accurate.

Cons: In the manual, there's no information if the measure includes the device dimension. Looks like it does not.
Built quality is not very good, but is passable.

Other: A must buy if you often use regular tapes. It is easy to use and fairly precise.
It does not measure AREA or VOLUME, it is just a calculation. To find the area of a room you have to measure two dimensions and store on a memory. Then you press "area" and the memory buttons where you store the dimensions. The device calculates the area based on your previous measures. The same about the volume.

Pros: -Clear instructions

-Price is very good
-For a general use, it's practical and quick
-Laser is good guide
-Some additional functions which are very easy to use

Cons: -Plastic is too thin, so It doesn't look so solid; but I use for my house work
-Battery type is not too common and it's not included
-Sometimes it's hard to keep the horizontal in oreder to get a good result
