Pros: -Price -Brightness -Dimming function -Ability to take a variety of batteries -correction filters come in a padded case!

Cons: -Slight green cast to the light -Light not completely uniform -hot shoe mount is flimsy -orange filter is completely worthless for practical applications

Other: Despite the few drawbacks this light has, I am very happy with the purchase, and will likely purchase one or two more. If you are unwilling to deal with a few nuisances (cutting your own gels, being gentle with the hot shoe mount) then you should purchase the official LP version, but with a little bit of knowledge and effort you can use this light to get very pro results, and put the boatload of cash you just saved towards the next piece of gear you've been eyeing.

Pros: -The amount of heat produced is very low (as you could expect from LEDs), so I expect the batteries will last for hours and hours. -The dimmer doesn't work stop by stop but in a continuous way, from nearly nothing to blinding bright. -The test button has four LEDs, and they work when the light is either on or off. Once you are used to it, it will give you a rough idea of the time you can expect the batteries to work. -The cover is made of plastic, not metal, so the light is not too heavy.

Cons: -The diffuser grips should be better. -The clear diffuser doesn't do much. Without the diffuser, the angle covered is that of a 100mm telephoto, aproximately. You would expect the diffuser to widen the light angle, but the difference is hardly visible. With a hand-made diffuser (for example, a sheet of white paper curved in front of the light and taped on both sides), the effect will probably be better (but the light will not be so bright).

Other: It's a nice light. The size is bigger than I imagined, but this has its positive side as well: the shadows will not be too sharp, especially if used at a short distance.

Pros: Great performance at a very low price. Very good light output compared with dichroic lamps. Generates a very soft light. Usable in both video and photography. Very low power consumption, over 1.5 hours with an NP-F570. Lightweight and portable.

Cons: The base is very weak should be metallic. I have my doubts about the duration of the dimmer. The correction filter to 3200K non-precision
