What is Bulk Rate? BulkRate is a semi-wholesale system with items priced separately from retail. When you use bulk rates, a flat $1.70 registered air mail fee will automatically be added to your cart to ensure delivery of package. While BulkRate's intention is to offer cheaper prices when you buy in bulk, because it is priced separately it on occassions show a higher than retail price. That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Tests most all cables, remote unit which attaches to main unit
Cons: Large, instructions lacking, but it is mostly self explanatory. Does not directly show crossed wires. You must watch BOTH main and remote displays to see if both are lighting in sequence. If they are not it become difficult to figure it out.
Other: Worth the money, does the job, wish it were smaller, wish it had a few instructions, needs an adapter for BNC.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Works great, when testing broadband network cable leds light up one by one so it is easy to find out which one doesn't work. Cables slide in properly. Takes only a single 9v battery.
Useful for testing long firewire cables that are used for video.
Much cheaper than in local stores.
Cons: Not mini :) It is around 20 x 10 cm so you must have pretty big pockets if you want to carry it in them.
Plastic looks a little cheap.
Other: Buy it if you need testing wide range of different cables in one product.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - light in weight
- useful as all in one tester
- almost all cable can test with this little tester
Cons: - too big for the size
- plastic seems low quality
- could be cheaper in price
Other: Size should be smaller so that not occupied by tools bag. Ofcourse, overall I am satisfying with it!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Multi-interface tester. Have bought it just for LAN and USB cables testing and haven't expected to obtain also a good tester for coaxial cables. Very easy to use this device - just plug the cables and push the button!
Cons: Size of the tester is rather big - such device can be smaller. 9V battery is not such commonly used battery as AA or AAA. I But possibly tester needs 9V to test long cables, so such batterey is the only one.
Other: Good tester for LAN and USB cables.
