Pros: 3rd Gen Ipods are getting old, and you will need to replace the battery, this will work perfectly.

Cons: The tools supplied to open the ipod broke :P so I used a pocket knife to pry it open instead. (fine sharp edge to get into the gap is what is needed)

Pros: Low priced and really good quality replacement for 3g Ipods, comes with leads and plug, and 2 plastic tools, ready to replace battery, battery lasts long time too

Cons: None with item, but hardest part of this is getting ipod open without scratching everything! just follow instructions (included) to unclip supports

Other: A worthwhile replacement battery to any 3G ipod whether broken or just as a backup for ipod lovers collection everywhere, price is very competitive including tools, and its rather cheap compared with others especially when you factor in the shipping for anywhere in the worldwide destinations is included for free!

Pros: You will get your ipod to play about 5 hours of music for just u$s6.

Cons: Compared to the original ipod battery, it looks as if this replacement battery was home-built (the build quality is rather poor). The tools that shipped along with the battery are rather useless aswell, you will be better off with a thin knife or even with a credit card.

Other: Despite the fact the tools were rather flimsy and the battery did not look as professional as the original battery, it does what it is supposed to do for very little money! Good buy!

Pros: - Easy to install. - Holds hours of energy. - Very cheap.

Cons: For this price? None. I kinda get the feeling it doesn't actually retain 850mAh but I still get about 6-7 hours out of it.

Other: Cheap good iPod battery that will rejuvinate a dead iPod and will give juice for approximately 6-7 Hours. Opening tools make for an added bonus.
I also recomend leaving it to charge ovrnight, as that somehow gives it maximum charge
I have even ordered a second one, as now my moms iPod is also dead.

Pros: - Can be used to replace dead 3G iPod batteries
- Decent capacity, my friend reported about 7-8 hours on a charge with his 40GB model
- Once the iPod was open, installation was pretty easy (just take the old one out, put the new one in, close the iPod)
- Came about 50% charged, which is about right for Li-ion batteries.

Cons: - Included tools are very flimsy. I had to resort to a swiss army knife to get the iPod open.

Other: Get this if you have an old iPod that still works but has a dead battery.

Pros: I had an old 3G 40GB iPod hanging around that was collecting dust and saw this battery on DX for such a low price that I thought I may as well get my old iPod kicking again.

Cons: Rubbish tools to do the job with. I almost feel that they shouldn't include them so that users expect to need a screwdriver or some thin blade on-hand for the task. That said, I managed to insert the new battery on a bumpy car trip.

Other: Like mine, I imagine there are lots of old iPods hangign aroudn that people no longer have a use for (because of mobile phones with MP3 players and such) but at least you can bring it back to life and give it to a friend or sell it or as a last resort, use it as a back-up device or other storage.

Pros: Cheap compared to other replacement solutions that consist of the same exact materials. 2 plastic wedges instead of only 1 others supply. Complete instructions along with pictures in grammatically correct English included.
Saved my ipod from the trash.

Cons: Plastic on the 2 tools is a bit weak, the manual says to resharpen them with a knife but both wore down very quickly, actually used a thick American Eagle all access pass to open up my ipod when the two tools didnt work.

Other: Saved me a bunch of money, Ipod actually had a HD malfunction, considering it was from 2003, worked after a couple of failed reformats and restores and the slap trick. to get into diagnostic mode to check this newly installed battery, hold menu and play until it resets then immediately press FF RW and Select to enter diagnostics.

Pros: Found my old 15gb ipod 3g that was collecting dust in the garage. It was still working, but the battery was dying really fast (could only use it connected to the charger). The battery was easy to replace, the manual was very useful. I use it everyday for like 2~3 hours, and one full charge lasts for at least 4 days - which is pretty good.

Cons: The included tools are very weak, thankfully it comes with a pair - destroyed one on my first attempt. I'd probably use something else to open the ipod if needed.

Other: Great and cheap battery replacement for your old ipod.

Pros: This battery brought life back to my old iPod. Before replacing the battery would last around 30 min. After replacing the battery, it last 4-5 hrs. Not quite as good as the original battery but for the price, it's an amazing deal.

Cons: This battery doesn't last quite as long as the original. But a great value for the price. The iPod case openers are quite cheap. I used a kitchen knife to open up my ipod case. It got a little bit scratched from the knife. But if i wouldn't have replaced the battery, my ipod would be useless.
