  • Great lens to extend your optosensor range

    Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

    Pros: 8 mm lens can be used to extend the optical sensor components such as IR transcievers, LDRs or photodiodes and photo transistors. High quality clear plastic manufacturing. One side is convex while the other side is flat.

    Cons: Hard to handle due to its small size

    Other: If you need to increase detection range in an optoelectronic application this no-cost lenses are primary candidates. If you are a DIYer, engineer, scientist or student do not hesitate to spend a few bucks on this. What you get will be far beyond your expenses.

  • Good, but mine are double convex

    Pros: Good, clear plastic lens. Super cheap. What more can be said?

    Cons: Unfortunately the ones I received are double-convex! I required a plano-convex lens, so I can't use this for the project I bought it for. The previous reviewer received plano-convex lenses, and the photos also show plano-convex lenses, so I'm disappointed I didn't receive the item I needed. Another issue is that the lenses are just tossed all into one bag, so they might get scratched up in shipping. I also ordered lenses sku 13905 with this, and they were neatly adhered to a piece of tape to keep them separate.

    Other: It's a good lens if you don't care if you get a double convex lens.
