What is Bulk Rate? BulkRate is a semi-wholesale system with items priced separately from retail. When you use bulk rates, a flat $1.70 registered air mail fee will automatically be added to your cart to ensure delivery of package. While BulkRate's intention is to offer cheaper prices when you buy in bulk, because it is priced separately it on occassions show a higher than retail price. That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. If you are looking for wholesale prices please feel free to contact us.

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Small, lightweight, ability to use all formats, straightforward, plug and play, great build quality!
Cons: Nothing at all!
Other: If you need a card reader this is the thing you want. I have not used anything this great before. I have 3 other card readers and this is by far the top one I have due to its ability to use all formats and being so SMALL!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Even smaller than I imagined it would be, support for many cards.
Cons: Compact Flash slot is unclear which side is up or down, and one of the pins bent very easily. (Or was bent already...) When transferring, it frequently has I/O errors, or another message saying "parameter is incorrect". One file will take half a second to transfer, another will time out and never finish.
Other: I am sure there are other alternatives that are more reliable. This may still be a good buy for the other card formats, but it may have issues with a high-speed card.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - Able to read multiple cards - small and compact
Cons: - does not label which card goes to which slot - Connected the USB to the reader requires some strength - does not seem sturdy, very cheap plastic
Other: - get this if you need it but there are better ones out there. if you are good at figuring out stuff or likes to do trial and error (finding which card goes to which slot), this reader is good for you.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - very, very small (smaller than I expect) - good price, is very cheap - read small cards (microSD, miniSD, ...) without reductions, that is that, why i wanted this card reader - good transfer speed
Cons: - card slots is not marked
- before I can put in CompatFlash card, I must use my knife :)
- low price/power
Other: - good as second card reader, for example to photo or notebook bag or something like that, but not as your primary card reader, I tihnk...
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: I got this so I can read my MicroSD card on my desktop. I simply want to read pictures I take on my cell phone.
I am in the US with an LG VX9900, using a MicroSD 2GB card I got on DX.
The computer is 3 years old. I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but the computer will not read the card using just the built-in SD card reader and the SD adapter. It will also not read the card using a cable from my cell phone.
Cons: None really. For the price, it's amazing! Maybe it would be helpful to have labels, but you can sort it out easily enough.
Other: I saw a similar card reader at a store called Target in the USA. It was US$20 and it was 2 times the size. I am so glad I checked DX first. I saved a bunch of money and I didn't have to put up with a bulky card reader.
If you need a small card reader and you need a compact card reader for personal use, I recommend this.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Very small, accepts all current card formats (except SmartMedia, but no one uses that anymore). Has a LED. Supported formats printed on top.
Cons: Cheap construction. Unlabeled card slots. The provided cable is rather short, but it will do.
Other: Get one for your computer, laptop, ps3, etc. Probably won't last you a lifetime, but for this price, who cares.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - small, easy to carry with a laptop computer, for desktop computer I still prefer permanently mounted solutions
- works with many types of cards
Cons: - build seems a bit weak
- the included miniUSB-cable didn't work
Other: Very good value for your money, even without a working cable. My uncle has a same type of reader, he bought it from a local shop for 21.90 euros (about $30). Too bad, he didn't ask me first, I would've recommended DX ;)
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - Easily connected, no special drivers needed.
- High speed reading / writing with my SD card.
- pretty small, easily carried.
- lightweight
Cons: - If you already have a built in card reader, you can't connect this one in the same time... in my case, when I connected it to an XP machine which already had a built in card reader, got the BSOD.
- Plastic feels a bit cheap, but there should not be a problem if you are careful with it.
- USB wire is short, in most cases you will need an extension cable.
- the sockets does not have labels, but you find the write place to plug in the card pretty fast anyway.
Other: Nice device, if you need a multi card reader, this is a good option.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: -this card reader is very good for the price
-alot cheaper than the ones we get here in australia
-very good built quality, came in very good packaging
- The price, i really cant complain, because this card reader is worth the $5
Cons: -there is only one con, i tried putting in a standard SD card and none of the ports picked i( i think its my card that is broken) But other than that it is very good
Other: if u have $5, i'd highly recommend you buy this because it is very handy indeed.
i think i might buy more for my family
thank you DX!!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - Mostly works
- Is small
- Is cheap
Cons: - Mine does not read CF cards, which pretty much defeats the purpose for me. I'm not sure if this is a one-off error or that it happens often, but you might want to invest in something more expensive if you can spare the money.
Other: If you need this once or twice, get it, otherwise I'd probably invest in something more decent.
