AMT Amtech Professional Soldering Flux (10ml)

Pros: Genuine AMTech soldering flux for an excellent price. Nice and creamy consistency so it stays put and doesn't run. Well blended like a lotion. It's pine flux, so there's a great pine smell.
Washable with contact cleaner so easy to remove. If you get it on your hands and it dries, it's not sappy, but a little tacky.

Cons: Comes in one of those 'special' tubes that require you to buy the 'special' plunger or use it with a pneumatic dispensing system.

Other: Get this if you need soldering flux. Do what I did and tranfer it to another syringe with a needle. I used 3cc vet syringes with a 22G needle with the point removed.
How can you beat this quality of flux for this price? You can't unless you steal it.

Pros: This is a really good flux for rework.
The syringe it comes in makes it look profesional.
It's Amtech original so no worries on the quality.
For hobby use it should last you about 6 months.

Cons: It leaves residue that needs to be cleaned with alcohol.
Really sticky if you touch it.
It should come in larger syringes.

Other: I've used it with success to thin sku.4711 lodestar soldering paste. I guess it should work fine with other solder pastes, just keep in mind that this flux is not no-clean and will leave residue on your board.

Pros: If you need flux, this works. It's inexpensive. It's probably more than enough to last most casual hobbyists for a very long time. (Most people will probably lose this bottle before the product actually runs out.)

Cons: Its hard to get it out of the tube! You have to push with anything you find I don't think I really like the tube even if you have a nice quantity

Other: Get it its nice and cheap

Pros: great price, if you are just a hobbyist this will last you ages.
works just like flux is meant too, solder flows like a dream after applying.
Cap seems pretty solid, nothings coming out so far. Its paste flux and it is pretty thick so it is harder for you to spill it over a pcb or something. Shipping was really decent. Pretty sure this is official AM-tech, well it performs the same.

Cons: Application to smd points may be hard, you will need your own method of doing this as you cannot do so straight from the tube.
Has some instructions saying not for individual use and may cause cancer, a little unnerving.

Other: Cheap, Works great, reliable brand, free shipping, great quality. No real downside.

Pros: I ordered this product before and received genuine Amtech flux, with hologram and correct typesetting.

Cons: What I got now is definitely not genuine. There is no hologram, the label has cuts and is not properly attached, and there are typesetting mistakes. Amtech flux sold on Ebay is usually fake, but apparently DealExtreme is now selling it as well.

Other: May do the job, but I won't be using it. There is some test results available on the web showing that the fake flux does not behave like the genuine Amtech one. Not that there was not problem whatsoever with my previous order, so if you are lucky you may receive a good product.

Cons: That's what I got now is not like the original. On sent by flux no hologram is written Model: "RMA-223", which does not correspond Model: "RMA-223-UV" in the review.

Other: If the next order will be sent not the original flux will have to find another supplier. Probably really may have more luck, and send the original flux, as it was before.

Pros: Sad to say, the only one proposition is the price, but just only in case of genuine product.

Cons: The product I received is NOT a FLUX, it looks like the same, but does NOT WORK! I DID NOT RECEIVE THE AMTECH FLUX, WHICH IS DISPLAYED ON YOUR PAGE. THE HOLOGRAM MISSES, THERE ARE MISTAKES ON THE LABEL, IT IS MADE IN CHINA, NOT IN USA, AS YOU SHOW ON THE PICTURE! DX SENT ME A FALSIFICATE. I already tested many fluxes from various manufacturers, which were great (but expensive). This "flux" offered by DX is NOT wetting the tin! By heating it simply vaporises like - that is the whole effect of this product.

Other: DO NOT BUY IT! DO NOT SQUANDRE YOUR MONEY AS ME! Withall (maybe) you will have a luck and DX will send you the real one flux, as on the picture above...

Pros: None really. The price might be decent if you actually knew what you were getting

Cons: This is not Amtech flux. Its a poor copy. The label is on squint, the actual part number is not the -UV. The label reads "This product contains chemicals knomn to the state of Colofomia and other states to canuse cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harn" Yes - all the spelling mistakes, lack of capitalisation etc are exactly as per the label. Do not buy if you're expecting to get the genuine article.

Other: If you want what is possibly a tube of urine, order this. If you want genuine Amtech flux then do not buy this !!!

Pros: It was cheap

Cons: It didn't seem to do anything.

Other: I may be wrong as to whether this product works, but at this price you could just try if for yourself.

Pros: Cheap flux, may be enough good for lead SMD. For me, it makes better solder than cheapest vaseline-based flux, but it completely vapored for 1-2 minutes at 220-240C on lead-free boards.

Cons: 1) This is fake, made in China (not USA), without hologram
2) Type is RMA-223, not RMA-223-UV

Other: I haven't any spelling errors on label that are reported by other consmers, so I think that there are some different vendors of this fake RMA-223, with slightly different quality, so buying it is like russian roulette.
