What is Bulk Rate? BulkRate is a semi-wholesale system with items priced separately from retail. When you use bulk rates, a flat $1.70 registered air mail fee will automatically be added to your cart to ensure delivery of package. While BulkRate's intention is to offer cheaper prices when you buy in bulk, because it is priced separately it on occassions show a higher than retail price. That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. Pros: It's a fully functioning arduino, the only problem is that the R2 is mounted and when you try to upload a program it constantly reset and you are unable to upload the code from the computer to arduino
Cons: R2 was mounted; could be provided with an schematic or a little manual.. Could be cheaper! it's the same price as an official arduino, the only reason i bought it here is because of the shipping rates of the arduino website
Other: It's an arduino, has a problem with the R2 (READ TOPIC BELOW) but once solved, it works as it's supposed!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: * Cheap arduino board, and compatible with all Duemilanove-compatible shields. * Built-in PWM connector headers attached to digital pins 3, 5, 6, 9, 10, and 11 so you can just plug in a standard hobby servo without any need for crimping, soldering, or using a PWM shield * Built-in Analog I/O headers connected to the analog pins to allow easy sensor connection with a 3-pin PWM cable
Cons: YOU MUST REMOVE THE R2 RESISTOR FOR THE BOARD TO WORK! If you do not, you will get the following error when you try to program the board: avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00 Resistor R2 connects the RTS line to Reset, which means that the board gets held in reset during programming if R2 is mounted. The schematic indicates NM (not mounted) for R2. R2 is located next to the crystal (the oval metal object near the center of the board) towards the USB port. It can be removed easily using a fine-tipped soldering iron and a pair of tweezers. See http://club.dx.com/forums/Forums.dx/threadid.1159813 for more info
Other: A great cheap board with extra connection options, as long as you're willing to do a little soldering.

Pros: Good price for a useful board with bootloader pre-programmed. Able to use with Ubuntu. Simple to use interface.
Cons: Pin 14 was damaged and so was the socket from an insertion error. R2 had to be removed to get the thing to program. USB caable included was intermittent. (Luckily I had another one).
Other: Not a bad deal if you know the trick. It cost me almost 2 days to find it! But the board is working great now. All I had to do was straighten the Mega pins and reinsert into the socket, remove R2, and spend two summer days searching for the answer to allowing it to program.

Pros: - Arduino compatible - ATMega 328 - Exposed pins lets you connect to devices without need for sensor shield - Include USB cable
Cons: - Like others have mentioned, you MUST solder off the resister R2 before you can program the board, otherwise the Arduino IDE will throw errors. The R2 in question is located above the processor and to the left of the oscillator, where you will find a line of resistors, one of which is labeled R2.
Other: Although it's a bit of a hassle to have to take off the resistor it really wasn't all that difficult, even for someone with 0 soldering experience (like me). But hopefully the manufacturer will fix this bug and it won't be required for future buyers.

Pros: I connected this with the ethernet shield (SKU: 118061) I ordered at the same time, connected all the cables and loaded the Arduino development environment on my computer. I loaded the Ethernet server example, compiled it and uploaded it to the Arduino board. It worked like a charm, and I didn't need to solder anything on the board. What-ever they said on the forum they must have fixed it. Highly recommended.
Cons: Haven't noticed anything wrong or quirky about it. Cheap, speedy deliver.. What else can you ask for?
Other: Don't spend all the extra cash to buy "official" Arduino board when this compatible board works the same.

Pros: I am a student studying microcontrollers in college and this is a very useful device to aid further learning. It has plenty of access pins for further module connections. The USB is very handy to programme the microcontroller directly from the Arduino own environment. Contrary to previous reviews, R2 had already been removed.
Cons: Would have been more helpful from a student perspective if there was an accompanying data sheet or more detailed specifications than found on product website.
Other: Big thumbs up overall!!
