What is Bulk Rate? BulkRate is a semi-wholesale system with items priced separately from retail. When you use bulk rates, a flat $1.70 registered air mail fee will automatically be added to your cart to ensure delivery of package. While BulkRate's intention is to offer cheaper prices when you buy in bulk, because it is priced separately it on occassions show a higher than retail price. That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. Pros: Interesting if you are into microcontrollers and such electronics. It has all the basics to build yourself an Arduino or add-on, the mini breadboard is cool to have and put sensors on or other experimenting components.
Good build quality.
Cons: I dont see any, only wish DX would have more components like this. Like sensors and motors.
The leds are useful of course.
Other: Very interesting component, more, more!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: nicely built. the first thing you'll notice is that it looks extremely professional and just like an original arduino shield. it is also a must-have if you're into fast prototyping because a separate breadboard is sometimes cumbersome to carry around.
Cons: I felt the lack for some sort of manual instructing how to use the shield. ok, it's a simple shield and buyers will be using it correctly in no time, but let's keep in mind we're talking about arduino developers (experimental homemade learners). it would be nice to include a simple sheet indicating the use of the leds as the button.
Other: I thought it'd be like any other arduino stuff: just one more piece. but this little breadboard really makes the difference between having fun and having a headache of wires or an external breadboard. just get one. it will make you happy.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Nicely built, good board quality, solder mask and silk marks.
Very nice PCB design. Some pads for other componentes, GND and VCC tracks. There are even pads for an SOIC SMD circuit you can solder and use.
Cons: There's one single big con, but it's a flaw. They are not stackable. They don't use the long pin headers, but a pair of male and female headers set 0.1" apart. This means you cannot plug other shield on top of this.
Other: Good value, versatile, you can use for a lot of projects, either temporary or soldering your componentes and making your own shield.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: We can choose if we want to stick the breadboard or keep the soldering area. There is already 5 pins for GND and 5 other for VCC. It's very well in every project you made with an Arduino.
Cons: This is very difficult to know how to use the leds and the bottons included. This will be great to have explainations.
Other: This is a shield to have for for all those who have an Arduino.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: The quality is great, amazing value. One switch for RESET and one switch for general purpose. Has very useful SOIC pad for surface-mount parts. Supplied breadboard is perfect fir for the PCB. Additional headers at the top of the board provide power for the breadboarded parts.
Cons: Surface-mount resistors for the LEDs would make it look much more professional.
Other: I highly recommend this product as it is simple, easy to use, and works very well. I recommend this one over any other prototyping shield on DealExtreme.

Pros: - Nicely built and fits the original Arduino board "UNO R3" - I don't have an experience with an original Prototype Shield with Mini Breadboard, but this one looks very professional and high quality - Very simple to use, doesn't need any manual, all the information you need can be found in the discussion section - Must have if you are into quick prototyping
Cons: So far nothing, every pin tested so far works flawlessly
Other: It's a convenient way to make your custom circuit and Arduino into a single module. For this price and quality, you can't go wrong!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Really good price. It is very good for beginners and will let you make your first Arduino project in a few minutes. You have the option to stick the breadboard to it, or you can use it as universal PCB shield.
Cons: The top pins are placed differently than Arduino top pins, which makes this shield not stackable.
Other: Especially if you are new to microcontrollers and you want to start to play with Arduino UNO, buy this thing too!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: There is nothing really special about this shield. The price is right, and does what it should. The breadboard comes with a sticker that allows you to put it on the shield or use it apart. You can find a reset button and another button labeled SW2. There are a couple of leds (blue and red). You will have to use your solder if you want to use the leds and the switch, as it does not come with a header where you could use breadboard jumper wires. If you don't use the breadboard you have the shield prepared for soldering, so this board is great for permanent prototypes.
Cons: It took ages to get to my house. It would be great if it came with headers for leds and the switch.
Other: works, solid construction, good price.

Pros: This is OK shield for Arduino. Fits my Arduino Mega 2560 r3. Pins are readable and you quickly know how to connect it. It comes with LED and a reset button which is nice if it covers your Arduinos reset button (the one on the Mega 2560 is still visible (reset button, not the D13 LED).
Cons: Top analogue inputs are offset so you cannot stack another shield on it. I was kind of dissapointed with that but it looks intentional. Two of the pin strips were soldered a bit askew but the shield fits anyway (a firm push and it jumps in (be sure to put all the pins all the way down).
Other: For this price I'd but the bigger breadboard as I feel I won't be using the shield. Still it might come handy if you want to solder some parts on it, put it on arduino and pack it as a finished project.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: It is a cheap circuit board working as intended. It has a mini breadboard around 3x4 cm that you can attach to it with a double sided sticker for a permanent attach. It has 2 leds and 2 buttons on it.
Cons: The expansions brought above the prototype shield can not be used with another shield as they are soldered further inside the board so you can not stack on top of the other.
Other: I would buy it again if needed, although proto shieldds is something you dont need often since you put your project on a pcb once it is working.
