    Pros: Bright light.
Proper HA coating, will not scratch.
Build quality (except pill) is 4-5.
    Battery insertion instructions inside tube.

Cons: Unmodified light brightness drops after 1 minute.
    Not proper heatsinking of LED.
Brass pill body instead of aluminium.
No regulated circuitry. Direct + resistor.
    Glass not coated?
Low efficiency compared to single CREE XR-E.

    Other: Cheap DIY flashlight.
Great body, but LED/pill require modification to ensure full brightness and to avoid damaging the LED.
It is brighter than my WF-400, but uses much more power.

    Pros: + Very much light
    + 2 modes works fine
    + Pretty floody beam
    + Cheap

Cons: - Floody beam( if you prefer throw)
    - Cant unscrew the head

Other: I am very satisfied with this light. It is compact and still produces a massive amount of light for a pretty decent price.

Pros: Way brighter than my 3w 4d cell led maglite! The low is slightly dimmer than the same Maglite. I think the led maglite puts out 100-110 lumens. Which is already bright.
    Great finish for the price.
    Small and compact.
Provision(little hole on tail cap) to attach a lanyard.
Will sit on it's tail cap, but wobbles a little bit due to slight protrusion of the 2 mode button.
    Aluminum reflector.
    O-ringed at all threaded points.
Better run time than advertised(An honest 60-70 minutes run time with a 2500mah 10650 unprotected trust fire and another 30 minutes of significantly dimmer run time after that.
    Nice build quality.
    Floods an area more evenly.

Cons: Glass lens seems to be a bit thin.
Mine came with a chip on the tail cap about the size of a pencil point. It's not a big deal, but this is a review.
This light gets warm after 5 minutes and hot after 10-15 minutes.
The o-rings at the tail cap seems a bit thin or too small to create a good water resistant seal, but nothing a couple of fatter o-rings couldn't fix.
The reflector housing is threaded but will not turn(glued?) negating the ability to go from flood to zoom.
The 10650s take a long time to charge so have spares.

Other: I will definitely buy another one when the need arises.

    Pros: Very Bright
    Low Price
    Easy to use
    Very Bright
    Compact
    Durable
    2 modes

Cons: Not able to adjust beam
    Average heat sinking
    No Warranty

Other: This is a great light for the price. It is incredibly bright. Very sturdy design. Two modes work great, high power is too bright for close up work. Very good value. Very Bright. Very Bright. Very Bright. Very Bright.

Pros: The light is very bright for a light this small. The build quality is also pretty good. Pocketable size which makes it great to carry around.

Cons: There was a nick on the tailcap but not a big deal for me. Poor thermal connection between the p7 star to the pill. Had to take it apart and add thermal grease myself. And it can get pretty hot but still manageable.

Other: Good buy at a reasonable price. However, it can do with more heat sinking. Guess the MTE light seems to have better heat sinking... can go for that instead.
Anyone knows if the MC-E is as hot as the P7 or not?

    Pros: - Bright ; - Good looking ; - Light (without batteries) ; - 2 modes ; - Cheap ; - Led is correctly centered in assembly ; - Nice flood/throw ratio ;

    Cons: - Threads not smooth ; - o-rings look like they wont be effective, do not drop it in water... ; - Hot. Very hot on high mode use for ~10 minutes ; - I think this is direct drive (fade) ;

Other: Nice 1x18650 P7 light, give a lot of lumens for a reasonable price, 2 modes is nice so you can use in low mode and go to high when you need it, but not for too long. Won't regret my buy, its a great flashlight for the price.

  • Fantastic!

Pros: Small, lightweight, bargain price, bright as heck, solid clicky, solid feel, fantastic flood

Cons: Poor quality assurance: flashlight was delivered with the o-ring for the lens, only halfway in. Wish manufacturers would make a high, low, strobe. Unfortunately, it seems to be that you can only get a 2-mode (high/low) or you have to jump to a 5-mode, and I didn't want that many to go through each time you shut it off. You will need a second light to supplement to get any throw. Slight donut effect up close, but orange peel works well to mask it.

Other: I use this light as a bike light with mount (SKU# 15342) and it's been fantastic. Has the light output of a bicycle light that costs $300-$400. With charger and protected batteries (I got 2 sets totaling 4 batteries) it was only $80). For $100, a bike light will get you only about 15W which is no comparison to this flashlight.

  • Great flashlight

posted by tihlous on 02:26:12 G2T 05/02/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: - very solid feel - mine has good build quality - very bright - white light with a warm yellowish tone (better than bluish when riding your bike in the woods at nights) - easy assembly and disassembly

Cons: - the resistor is way too strong (mine is about 7,4 ?), so the low mode is just too low and usable only for night reading under your blanket. I have replaced the resistor with a weaker one (1 ?) and the result is 2,5 - 3 hours of light with just a bit less light intensity. - full power depletes your accu quite quickly - you need to carry more accus in your pocket if you do not want to stay in the dark in the middle of forests - unable to get the LED EXACTLY in the center hole of the reflector, but this does not affect the performance

Other: Very useful and nice looking flashlight, period. Get one.

  • Good Flashligt - Good Price

Pros: If you need a strong light but you won´t pay a lot, take this. The flashlight is more flood as spot, but it´s ok. i take it to walk in forest or to take the dog for a walk. The handling are good.

Cons: the flashlight doesn´t have 900 lumen. i think 500-600 lumen are realistic, but its ok. when sun shines the light wasn´t very bright, but when the sun goes under, the aurora AK-P7 shows her energy.

Other: For this price the lamp are very good, but it havn´t 900 lumen compared to a led-lenser for example. I would search for a flashligt with authentic ~800 lumen and one click mode.

  • Just Perfect

Pros: This is an incredibly bright light, huge white beam with a wide angle. I use it in my bicycle as the main light in the handlebar, when going out at night. It even works well in rain conditions.

Cons: If it is used in high mode without a correct cooling, such as when hanging it still inside a room, it can overheat within a few minutes and screw up, so be careful. Low light mode does not even produce heat at all, but the light intensity difference is considerable.

Other: I strongly recommend this flashlight, it produces a huge amount of light at an affordable price. As a mountain bike main night light, it is just perfect.
