Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Measures A/C current in 3 ranges: 20A, 200A, and 400A.
A/C voltage up to 450
D/C voltage up to 600
Continuty / diode
Resistance up to 200k
Seems rugged.
Low battery indication
Cons: Dial is stiff
No auto power off
No DC current measure
No back light
Other: For general purpose use you'll probably be happier with the wallet type meter DX sells. But for an electrical contractor its great.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - Quality made - Accurate reading - Cheap
Cons: - No auto power off
Other: Good for hobbyist and electrician.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Perfectly built (only the dial needs some force, but feels reliably). Fast beeper.
Cons: Has no DC current range..
Other: Worth buying it even if you have to measure AC current only a few times in a year.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Feels as tough as meters costing 10x as much. I liked it so much I bought a set of leads that cost me more than this meter, to replace the cheap leads that come with it. I've compared accuracy against a meter costing more than 10x as much.
Cons: Included leads are cheap. Had to use a knife to modify plugs of new professonial set.
Other: If you need to use a clamp meter often and survive a tool box this is a good deal.
It's a good deal even of you only need to take one measurment.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Very good price. Only clamp transformer addon costs more. It uses 2 low cost batteries instead of expensive 9v ones. That also should make them last much longer. Nicely made and seems to be strong enough. also quite ergonomic.
Cons: Cant measure low currents. At best it have 0.1A precision. That is not good for most cases.
Useless High current ranges, since most people wont use it to measure 400A or 200A
Accuracy is little suspicious for non sinusoidal currents
Manufacturer was really "not clever" to make multimeter which measures DC voltage and AC current who may need that combination? 200K resistance range does not fit here either. Should be either 200om or 20Mom to be usefull.
Other: Not much use if you keep it as is.
But you can buy it if you are curious how much power takes your household electric items.
Also may be used as indicator to check if you did not left something turned on when going out.

Pros: This device is smaller that what I expected (good things :-p ). Very easy to use, the display is enough big and easy to read. The clamp look to be a good one, not so cheap.
Cons: The leads are very cheap, but who care about the lead on a clamp multimeter ;-)
Other: Great product. Usefull when you need to know the Amp in a cable without having to disconnect the cable to connect a traditional multimeter.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Very good price. Dropped it a few times and it's still in one piece. It uses 2 low cost AA batteries, which are easyier to replace than the 9 volt ones (that you usualy find in these things).
Cons: Realy insensitive. At best it have 0.1A precision so it cant read measure low currents. Since most people wont use it to measure 400A or 200A; Useless High current ranges.
While the meter has gages to 400A, NEVER USE THIS ONE for this.
Other: Usefull to check how much power your household electric items are taking and save money by shutting them down.
Please do take into account that you can only use this device on one lead (not both) if you want to measure the current.

Other: Worth buying it even if you have to measure AC current only a few times in a year.

Pros: It's a very simple meter, and can measure current with either the included probes or with the attached clamp. It appears to be sufficiently accurate for my purposes.
Cons: Does feel cheap, but then just about all handheld digital meters feel cheap (including Fluke and Wavetek) if they don't have a rubber housing on them to make them heavier.
Other: Worth every cent. There are certainly better meters available, but none in this price range.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - It's a great tool to check the Amperage of an AC circuit. It's the main usage. - With its 3 range of amperage you can do it with small amperage circuits to the big ones, until 400A - Also useful for mesuring voltage and resistance
Cons: - It's poor quality made. plastic. - the clamp it's not so wide so it's difficult sometimes to clamp correctly on a wire too big. - the accuracy it's not the best. But it's ok because the error is minimum. - The best you can get at that price. Not for professional perfect accuracy measuring, but it's ok for amateur testings.
Other: Perfect for use it at home
