Pros: Waaaay cheaper than other places, and it protects the chainstay just as well.
Works with jumbo chainstays on most aluminum mountain bikes.
Cons: Ummm... it doesn't apply itself. It takes some stretching and fiddling to get it just right.
May be too big for steel mountain bikes with skinny chainstays.
Other: Get it and keep your frame from getting scratched up!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: It does what it is supposed to do,
It's as simple as that, buy if you care about the painting in your bike, you love and care about it like your girl, My bike looks very pro now, and people regard Shimano as the most famous bike's parts manufacturer, so people think your bike is cools because it has a shimano chainstay protector. Five hundred characters completed
Cons: There is no cons at all.
Other: You can't find it less expensive anywhere in Brazil.
DX is where to buy it.

You can wrap it around hot and cold pipes to insulate them.
Kinda like a chinese finger trap, too. Entertain yourself and friends for hours.
Velcro several of them together to make it longer and use as an elastic knee/elbow protector/support.
The possibilities are endless!!!
Other: Bottomline: Get it and keep your frame from getting scratched up!
It's very useful!

Pros: I like the quality of this product, because it protects the Chainstay very good.
Another porsitiv point is the price, only 1,76 Dollars! (In Germany, we pay much more money for an Shimano Product like these)
The next positiv point is (like I just said) the Shimano logo, it looks very authentic and matches very good to the colour of my bike.
Cons: In my opinion, there are no cons (in reference to the price)
Other: Another very userful and cheap product from DX
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: One of the necessary things to protect your bike, in local store's I have not seen analogues cheaper than $10, so You can't beat the price; Looks nice and does't look like a cheap thing; Easily removed for cleaning; Dirt, dust and grease invisible on black.
Cons: It might be a little thicker (solved by several layers of tape under protector pad)
Other: Good, cheap, look nice - my score = 5 stars. Take care of yourself and your bike:)

Pros: I think that all the bike owners should have one of these if they care about their bike. It fits all the bikes, its veryy cheap for its build quality and VERY usefull product. You can just remove it to wash it and then put it on again.
Cons: The only con is that its a bit loose on my Giant bike and it slips away sometimes but i have to tighten it up and i wont have this problem anymore.
Other: I love it and i use it all the time. If i didnt have this product my bike would be full of scratches and dirt. Thank you Bike Chainstay Protector you saved my life :D
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: It's a cheap and useful pad that provides protection for the bicycle frame against chain slaps (which tend to chip off the paint and leave scratch marks all over). It's easy to use, light and decent looking and has some ellasticity.
Cons: Might require better fixing on the frame (with tape or plastic cable ties).
Other: It's a good way to protect the chainstay against scratches and a lot cheaper than the so called original stuff you can get from your bike-parts store. Does it's job!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: They are cheap compared to other places
Handy little protector pads
Made of washable materials so can be cleaned and used many times
Velcro closure, easy to use
The Shimano logo makes it look fancy
Cons: A bit shorter than I thought but I suppose it's long enough to protect the chain stay
Material is a bit on the thin side (but for something less than $2, this is a pretty good deal)
None others
Other: If you have an expensive mountain bike, get a couple of these to protect the chain stay. These are cheap but will do the job just fine. They don't seem very sturdy though so get a few extra ones for future replacements.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - Extremely cheap! - Very useful and protect chainstay against chain slaps (scratch and oil smudges) - Looks nice (mine is blue) - Washable - Easy to install and remove
Cons: - It's a bit loose on my bike frame and require home-made fixing (tape)
Other: It's almost free! And yes, it's protect very well!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: It should do its job protecting the chainstay again chainslap. The material is long enough to span the entire length of the chainstay that is usually hit by the chain during shifting.
Cons: The neoprene material is really thin and the velcro used seems "brittle". But since this is not meant to be removed on a regular basis (aside from cleaning), it should suffice.
Other: For the low price, it's definitely a good purchase. It should prevent paint nicks and scratches. You could even buy two and use one for either side (the left side and the chain side) and use them as decoration
