Black Cat HM-01 HA-II OSRAM 100-Lumen LED Flashlight - Black (1*AAA)

Pros: I purchased this flash light to keep on my key ring. I replaced the lanyard with a swivel and split ring from the fishing tackle shop. I am very impressed with the performance of this flash light, for its size and weight it is truly amazeing. I bought it to replace a mini mag light that uses one aaa battery the same as this. There is simply no comparison in performance. I will have to wait and see how this light stands up to the battering of day to day life on the end of my keyring. It certainly looks well made, and it feels good quality,although the spelling of Germany is a bit of a give away as to its origins! The simple on off one mode operation is ideal for this type of flash light.

Cons: Cant think of any at the moment.

Other: Well worth a try if you want a small very bright inexpensive flash light.

Pros: This is a great light. I promptly replaced my Browning Every Day Carry (EDC) .5 watt light with this one as it is at least twice as bright. Easy to throw in your pocket or attach to a keychain, and you can easily carry more batteries. This is so much brighter than the comparable Maglight AAA, it's ridiculous. I'm amazed at the quality for the price. Way to go Deal Extreme!

Other: Try it. You won't be disappointed. And no, I'm not a "plant" by Deal Extreme. I will buy these in bulk and sell them in my store.

Pros: Its 2x as long as a AAA cell, but its not much wider than a AAA battery, its very small, you can put it between your finger and thumb and shine it around and have no problems at all thinking its a pen. don't be fooled, this is amazingly small. I will happily wear it on my keyring with a good quality quick-release, and I don't expect it to add much if any noticeable weight to my keys. To swap out the single AAA battery it is very easy and the thread on the battery compartment is very smooth and not rough unlike on some modern Maglites that I"ve owned, its a very well made thread and its not hard to find with your fingers at all when screwing the tailcap back on. The endcap clicky switch is very sturdy, a bit firm but you get used to that and it saves it being turned on while in your pocket, I expect the switch to outlast me, it feels that solidly built.

Cons: the tightness of the clicky switch might make the flashlight slip out of your fingers if your fingers were covered in oil, eg working on your car, but in any other circumstance the clicky switch is perfectly fine and will work no problems, there is plenty of rough surfaces on the flashlight for you to grip onto, and you can always put your pinkie finger underneath the front of the flashlight while turning it on if you find yourself covered in grease and oil. You can't blame the flashlight though for that :P

Other: The build construction is very very sturdy but it also keeps the weight down. The clicky switch feels very solid and durable and reliable, it will probably outlast me and the firmness of it is just perfect for me.

White balance on the LED is good. i didnt get too much orange or blue color. very good spread has o rings. switch feels solid. doesnt come on by accident

Cons: one of the O rings was out of its slot but seems to seal well small size makes it easy to loose

Other: its a good alternative to Maglight. its brighter than my 2d maglight that has a krypton bulb and is brighter than my 2 AA mag light. my maglight solitaires dont compare

Pros: This is a very affordable, high quality flashlight. It is extremely easy to use. It is a 1 mode flashlight with a tailcap clicky switch. It is a very compact light that is slightly larger in diameter than the AAA battery that it uses and it is about 1.5 times the length of a AAA. I purchased a few of these lights from another supplier, before I found the better price at Deal Extreme. This was my first Deal Extreme purchase. I have since become a regular customer. They have excellent prices and excellent service. I have purchased a total of five of these Black Cat lights and I have given four away as gifts. They have been very appreciated. The small size, tail cap switch and lanyard makes them a superb choice for everyday carry. My wife, my brother and I use these great flashlights as a tactical light. The tail cap clicky allows for rapid on/off function. The light is bright enough to temporarily blind an attacker. The lanyard allows one to quickly drop and easily retrieve the light if needed (you can free up your hands for a quick magazine change, etc.). Everyone that sees mine wants one. My son has used his every day since I gave it to him and now his boss wants one. Just a great, compact, bright, well made light.

Cons: None as of yet.

Pros: What an excellent little flashlight! I can't say enough about how great this little flashlight is. It is very bright for how small it really is. It has the one mode which is fine with me. It has a clicky tailcap that seems to be of a pretty decent build quality. The light is extremely skinny too. It isn't much bigger than the diameter of a AAA battery.

Cons: I haven't come across any cons as of yet.

Other: If you're looking for an excellent flashlight, this is the one. It's super tiny which is really nice because it will fit into your pocket or bag without taking up too much room.

Pros: - Good price. - Rugged construction. Feels and seems quite durable. - Simple to use, no fiddly 'modes' just on/off - Good grip, useful strap. As it is very light, it's a good idea to slip the strap around your wrist. - Very bright light even with cheap AAA battery.

Cons: - Although the reflector you a bright central spot, it also spreads the light quite a bit. With better reflector this flashlight would be amazing - Otherwise, no cons.

Other: It's affordable little flashlight with excellent brightness. It's should be enough for any job you don't want to drag larger light around.

Pros: * Very small size, easily fits in your pocket.
* Acceptable brightness with AAA, though a 10440 gives a noticeable increase.
* Good knurling and finish.
* Wrist strap is actually large enough to go around your wrist, which often isn't the case with cheap, small lights.

Cons: * Can not tailstand.
* Not as bright as other AAA/10440 lights.

Other: Definitely worth buying as an everyday carry light. Also good for people who aren't flashlight addicts.

Pros: - Very attractive looks, from the logo to the finish
- Small and light! Fits on a keyring, a bit smaller than a AAA
- Funny lanyard included, "Tank 007" huh?
- SUPER BRIGHT! As the below reviewers note, the Black Cat packs a punch!

Cons: - "Tank 007" lanyard not detachable, thus attaching to a keyring is a pain... I had to clip mine on.

Other: Less than a week into purchase, I dropped the Black Cat (which was attached to my keychain) onto the wooden kitchen counter from about 5 inches. I didn't throw, clap, slam, or toss it onto the surface; I dropped it.
This totally killed the light, altogether. I was upset, changed the battery, unscrewed the top, and it was still dead.
Thus I give the product low scores since it was NOT durable and died after a light fall. If you're keeping it in a purse, pocket, or on a keychain, be gentle!
BOTTOM LINE:
The product is less durable than an iPod or average cell phone let alone a Maglite, and is worse than useless in that regard.

Pros: Brighter than other keychane-size flashlights. Very small, fit´s in your pocket. Nice machining, nice anodizing...
Works fine whit whith avaible AAA-size batteries, no absolute need for or LiIon...
Get´s only little warm in use...

Cons: None so far... there are much brighter flashlights on LiIon 14500 base...

Other: If you want a cheap flashlight, which is pretty small, buy it... If you want maximum brightness on AA size, look at DX 1500 based items...
