Pros: Ok, I bought this to use as a bike light for cruising around town. I was using the 2 lights from sku#1255, and while they are ok for letting people see you, they don't provide enough light to light up the path.
This light is much brighter, even in full flood mode. It's a very even flood, with an outer ring. It should light up the path much better and allow me to see what's coming ahead.
It fits into several of the various mounts that are available on DX.
If not using it for a bike light, I think most people would still like it. The wrist strap is actually big enough to fit over your hand. Simple to operate, and I can see may uses for it since there are times when you need more spot or more flood, and now you have that in one light.
Cons: Now to the cons. I read in reviews of these zoom type lights that the zooming head moved too easily, and they were right! The head slides in and out to change from spot to flood, but it just slides way too easily. It needs more tension, or maybe even mild clicks to hold it in position.
I think I read something about a fix for this (using an "O" ring somehow?), and I will look for it and try to resolve this problem.
The other problem is that even though the main flood area is very even, there is a big nasty ring around the outside of the flood. It's kinda yellowish/greenish and quite obvious. More so inside on a wall, not as much so outside on the ground, so I can live with it.
The spot mode has that weird little square. Not really a con, just weird. But it does have some nice throw in spot mode.
Other: At this price, this is a neat light. Cons aside, for under $10 you won't be disappointed. Especially if you can figure out how to tighten up the zoom function.

Pros: This small lamp has a satisfying heft to it as the internal 3x AAA cartridge adds weight.
The attached strap is large enough for my large hand to slip through.
The "frog-eye" lens zooms freely to provide a room-filling spill with a barely discernable hot spot, then, as you shift the bezel foreward, the beam narrows to a spill-free hot spot that's BLINDINGLY-bright.
Flash zoom can be operated with one hand.
Cons: The spot looks nothing like the ad photo, it's a BRILLIANT, squarish view of the chip, complete with printed circuit paths.
The sliding bezel rattles a bit.
Other: I'm waiting for a couple similar (and similarly priced) lights to arrive for comparison, but as it stands, I'm likely to buy two or three more of this pocket-rocket.

Pros: This is an immense amount of torch for less than $10.
The perfect EDC torch for most people as you get the best of all worlds - a nice open spread for general lighting and a spectacular zoom for when you need it.
More than bright enough for 90% of people - on full zoom - this lights up items more than a (UK) football field length away.
Cons: This seems to have a different led module than the other P4s I have - this one has quite a pronounced yellow halo, most noticeable on full zoom
The full zoom essentially projects the led die so is very square shaped (with a little lip on one side)
Head could be a little tighter - although it won't move on it's own it is very easy to change the zoom when it is in your hand (to some this may be a pro not a con)
Other: Peffect for keeping in your pocket, glove compartment or handbag (if you're a girl). Batteries are easy to get hold of and last a good hour (both decent rechargeables and alkaline)

Pros: Very bright, very cheap, very compact, very versatile.
Good flood if you want flood, but a little ringy at outer edge of beam.
Good spot/throw if you want that. Uses convenient AAA (direct drive, not even a resistor)
Cons: Very little spill when used at "throw" end of focus. So, not so good for peripheral illumination.
Other: Useful, Excellent value!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: it really works and it realy illuminates
it has bright yellow white light and very very powerfull. you can focus or make it spread.

Cons: it focuses the die shape and you can see its shape.
mine has finger prints inside of its lens.

Other: definetely worth what i pay! thank you DX.

Pros: The LED inside is very bright! It throws a big circle of pure light were you point! At night if you zoom to the max the square is visible on the other buildings! It's a small projector(like in batman). And it also uses AAA batteries(I bought 8 rechargeable from DX). And you can see the beam if it's dark enough.
Cons: I still can't open it-I wish to be able to change the LED inside-but not something to worry so much about.
Other: One great flashlight on great price.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: The torch as shipped is not the brightest torch in the DX range, but it is so trivially modified this is a must-have.
As shipped, the zoom function is exactly what I wanted.
Punches well above its weight as a useful light.
Cons: The threads for the tailcap are fine, and slightly roughly cut. So there is a small issue with possibly cross threading. Not a biggie.
The head rattles. This is because of the way the zoom works. It does cheapen the "feel" but not much.
Due to the construction, it isn't waterproof. Probably can't be made waterproof.
Other: If you're a flashlight collector: this is interesting for the zoom. If you want a practical light: this is one to look at. If you know which end of a soldering iron should not be held: follow the forum instructions and tweak it into something you will enjoy showing off! Hard to pass up for the money.

Pros: Love the standard AAA battery usage, works great on them and for a good long while. the bright mode is amazing, and its really odd to see such a tight beam projecting the led grid,
Cons: nobody understands the focus they all try turning it.
Also they are incorrect, its a plastic lens, not a glass one, (i have 2)
I hate the flashing mode! wish it could be disabled!
Other: great flashlight for the price, fits well in a cargo pocket, and lasts forever! love the zoom/focus

Pros: Very brite and very cheap deal. Love it very much. Can make blind any person for a minute even in the day light. Can be used by hunters, fishers, tourists, strikeballers and others.
Cons: It is need to put a gum ring in the top of it for better water resist like it has in the tale. Item do not fit the MOLLE strap size, so I bought a pouch for it.
Other: will buy some more, even for myself and some friends, it is only 10$ ant built very good :)
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: The special thing about this flashlight is the very even bright flood that it will put out. Very useful and different than other led flashlights. Easy to use. Gives off a good amount of light. The construction on mine seems to have no problems. Uses 3 AAA batteries so fairly cheap to fill with batteries. I use NIMH rechargeables. Can also project a tight square of light.
Cons: The lens that focuses the light is made of plastic not glass. No problem.
Other: I am very happy I bought it. The battery holder is Much Much better than those cheap generic 9 led ones.
