Pros: Works well in a tape player - does exactly what you'd expect. Uses controls on your casette deck to navigate (<< = prev. track, etc).
Cons: Not much use as a standalone player
No display, and the indicator lights aren't always easy to understand - sometimes hard to tell if it's working.
Resume function is confusing - the way I think it works, it only resumes after it has played an entire song?
Basically, you have no idea what this thing is doing, and you have to skip from the first track most of the time.
Other: If you need something like this, it's a pretty good deal. Don't expect it to replace a normal mp3 player with a display, though. Also, keep in mind if you don't have a SD card you'll need to add the price of that to this.

Pros: - I saw this item in other places but here its the cheapest. - Stylish look for a standalone MP3 player. - Easy to charge. - Battery life last long with a couple of hours charge.
Cons: - Not easy to use at the very first time.
- The build is not quite tough since its designed to look like a music casset tape.
Other: If you are looking for an item that works both for you and to pimp your car up with a to-go MP3 player then this is the item for you.

Pros: Compact, good sound quality with equaliser. Easy to use and useful especially if your car is only equipped with a cassete player. Enclosed AC and car chargers are useful and handy also for other USB powered devices. On the first charge the battery lasted about 6 hours. I had no problem connecting to my desktop with Vista operating system altough the package states it's only for XP/2000.
Cons: Packaged headphones are of low quality. Get a good pair. No possibility to fast forward or reverse a song when used in the casste player.Machanical rotating noise emmitted when used in the cassette player. No USB cable enclosed.
Other: No regrets.

Pros: Wonderful now you can have mp3 useability in a tape deck.
Well made and is quieter than a conventional 3.5mm to tape adapter.
Standalone function.
Skip pause and play using your tapedeck controls.
Cons: Could do with a usb to charge with rather than the usb dongle provided.
Other: Good product, thanks DX.

Pros: Exactly what I needed for my car, better than FM-based transmitters, since I don't loose the traffic announcement capability of RDS radio.
Plays quite good in the tape player, supports FF and REW via cassette player controls (but you must keep them on for several seconds).
Cons: European buyers, please note that this gadget comes with US AC adapter (also it is rated 110/240V, you would need an adapter to be able to plug it to your socket). Since the car adapter is included and you can charge the player through USB, it is not such a big problem.
Also the USB A to USB mini adapter is so small I was not able to use for in-car charging since the player weight was prying the charger apart.
Other: Great idea for a player, quite cheap, the product which brought me to Deal Extreme web site.

Pros: Very useful, if like me your boss buys you a new van with a casette player rather than a cd player. he's a skinflint!!! but thats another storey. Used my 1gb scan disk memory card and filled it with tunes. The sound quality is far superior than the old version i had that had a wire going to my mp3 player. really easy to use. just turn it on put it in your casette player and away you go. to forward track just press the forward tape button on your player and it goes to the next track.same for other way too. comes with mains charger, fag lighter adaptor and also charges from your usb port on computer aswel. there no excuse not to have it fully charged all the time. also comes with a very handy usb lead which works with other stuff i have.
Cons: no display on it, but hey you wouldn't be able to see it in the cassette player anyway. works as a standalone player but needs better headphones!
Other: this is a great product and everyone how has a cassette player in their care or van should have one, very fast delivery too. thanks deal extreme for another great product at a great price.

Pros: Now this is a REALLY cool product. Why? Design: 5/5 it's VERY cool looking and just is style. When you go out put it around your neck. You'll get a lot of attention. It's design does it al. Functionality is good and you can put in a SD card for your tracks. Haven't tried it in a tape recorder deck but it sure is a nice feature for many!
Cons: Built quuality: It's OKAY but that's not an issue: you don't need it during special forces missions so no problem.
Other: Great MP3 player for some-one who has a funky style. I love it! :) I wear it around my neck while I go to work in my suit. I work at a world leading bank. They love it too. And in the club you do get all the attention!

Pros: - generally does what it says it will
- high quality sound in standalone MP3 player mode (with good earphones)
- stylish design
- plastics doesn't look cheap
Cons: - audio quality when used in tape players was not so good, similar to regular tape, far from CD or MP3, I tried several car and home tape players and it wasn't much better then FM transmitters
- forward and backward rewind when in tape player didn't work in my piece, which is quite annoying if you have many songs on card and it starts to play from beginning every time it's powered off and on
- supplied earphones are really low quality (terrible sound, noise)
- USB adapter is not a cable as in picture but solid small piece which makes it very difficult to position the player during charging or loading data in a way not to break the connector
Other: equal alternative to FM transmitters if it works properly + additional functionality as standalone MP3 player

Pros: Build quality is moderate. But its plastic casing and buttons are much better than photographs here. It has a SD card slot. I installed 1gb kingston i worked with /MP3 folder in root directory.
It works as SD card reader. It has several EQ modes and it sounds not bad with good quality headphones.
Cons: It has built in battery, biggest problem will be draining batteries. So it might be produced with a permanently installed power cable for cassette palyers in car.
Other: if you have cassette player in your car and you cant change, you cant afford a cd player.go buy this. it will sound like at least casette adaptors which are directly plugged to mp3 players. plus this has equalizer modes to adjust tone.
adjust volume to mid to low and turn up your cassette player voluem for better sound.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: A nice alternative for people who have cassette players in their cars
Straightforward to use - just drag and drop mp3s onto the card
Sound's not bad at all. To my ears, it sounded better than my cassettes
Cons: Doesn't always work as intended. Sometimes songs stop half-way through and start again for no particular reason.
Hard to control.
Doesn't have a display.
Manual says you can move from one track to another using the cassette player's controls. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't.
Other: If you have a cassette player, this is cheap and cheerful and worth a try.
