Cree XR-E Q5 Emitter on Premium Star (228LM at 1A)

Pros: Fairly easy sauter points, on black star yet quality built. The mod on my DX Led digital torch was easy took 3 minutes. This Q5 looked noticeably whiter and more concentrated center. While ceiling hunting it revealed a small yellow corona and less spill beam.

Cons: I expected it really much brighter might just be my mAh board though need to test that. Might be running less than 600mAh

Other: Great mod, fairly easy, good price, buying one or two wont hurt to keep up with the new tech. Great for CR123A torch and the 3D one

Pros: - Very cheap Q5!

Cons: none so far.

Other: I havent tested it yet, due too lack of the right tools(which hopefully will be here this week), but I'm really looking forward to switching out the P4 with a q5 in some of my flashlights!

Pros: Modded my Tasklight (pops right in). The 3-AA's power this perfectly! Makes me jump everytime I fire it up due to the intense white/brightness!

Cons: My retinas!

Other: Absolutely a MUST upgrade for any previous generation Luxeon.

Pros: Very good quality product with perfect mounting of the LED on the star for heat sinking. Bright LED when properly driven at the correct voltage and current.

Cons: Requires a higher voltage driver to achieve the desired brightness.

Other: A good DIY component to build flashlights. However, upgrading existing flashlights may require additional modifications to the driver to achieve brighter output.

Pros: Simply the brightest and most efficient LED available today. Used it to mod my U2 Clone (sku.1285) and its simply amazing! Does not heat up and is the brightest LED I have ever seen.

Cons: None!

Other: This is another amazing product from DX and great for modding flashlights.

Pros: Bright and efficient. Good tint, very white. Did I say BRIGHT?? According to my lightmeter readings, at only 700 mA this thing puts out more light than a P4 Cree at 1000mA - with less heat to boot!

Cons: The emitter had a tiny air bubble underneath the dome. Does not affect the performance, really.

Other: Best LED available today, for great price.

Pros: Bright if you have a perfect regulator for it.

Cons: Mine has high vF(3.68@0.9A)
Need a good regulator to compensate higher vF.
Cree Q4 probably better with lower vF

Other: Installed it into U2 Style eastward and it seems to be as bright as WF-400 with Q2.
Waited for ages to get this arrived.

Pros: Very bright and good color temperature. Quality star PCB.

Cons: None - assuming you are able to fit this LED where you want it.

Other: Can't go wrong with these.

Pros: You can use this to upgrade you old led light into one impressive light

Cons: the star is way too big to fit a c2.

Other: If you have 10 bucks and an old light buy this.

Pros: Great replacement, build quality is excellent.

Cons: None so far.

Other: Has to love it :)
