Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Small and well built Display shows actual temperature measured by the sensor, with decimals. Very sensitive. Easy to set: push 'set' button and use 'up' and 'down' to set temperature. Relay turns on when measured temperature is higher than set one.
Cons: Not possible to change from ºC to ºF (not bad for me) Temperature is measured with resolution of one decimal, but trigger temperature is an integer. For example, it's not possible to set it to 40.5ºC. It has hysteresis of 2ºC, I could not find a way to change it. That is, it turns on on 40ºC, but goes off again only when sensor is colder than 38ºC. There's no NC wire, so if you want to use it to control an electrical heater you'll have to change the relay. No problem for use in refrigeration.
Other: Good, but not suitable for all uses.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: It's very cheap! It is easy to control the temperature. Can be used both for heating and for cooling. You can easily change the hysteresis from 1C to 15C. Has a small size. Bright display. The high sensitivity of the temperature sensor.
Cons: There are no instructions in English. Spent a bit of time to program. You need to add English in the manual!Nor any other
Other: A very useful item!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Small and well built Display shows actual temperature measured by the sensor, with decimals. Very sensitive. Importent for me is the hysterise and it works great.
Cons: There comes no manual, manual is very helpful for programming the controller. After searhing on the internet i found 1, you can download it on http://www.2shared.com/complete/Q6BTeXUq/Digital_thermostat_manual_XH-W.html
Other: Great, but there are no instructions in English! but you can download it!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Excellent quality, VERY easy use (the manual is in chinese, but isn´t necessary, it´s very easy to use this circuit
Cons: The relay is only open... when the temperature exceeds the limit set, the relay close.... but if you want to turn on when the temperature is below the limit, this circuit is not usefull (i think changing the relay must solve that!)
Other: VERY USEFULL CIRCUIT... if you like to turn on something that exceeds the limit set... if you like to turn on when the temperature is below... no
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Works well. Accurate and solid built. High sensitive probe with 0.1 grade resolution. Tested and compared with a dedicate thermometer work flawless. Customizable for what ever you intend to do.
Cons: No operation manual (only Chinese). Check the other's reviews for links with English operation manual. Buttons +and- are strangely placed with logical inverted. Maybe is a left handed project.
Other: Well build, very accurate for day to day purpose. I'm waiting for implementation ideas ...
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Its perfect for heating and cooling aplications, the output can be work in mode NA or NC, other parameters are selected from menu functions
Cons: No documentation available
Other: Its a powerful board to buy a simple heating or cooling controller
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: When you have read the manual (see other review for link) you will find out that this controller can be used for heating and cooling, and that the hysteresis is adjustable. Nice large screw connectors.
Cons: like all red LED displays: bit hard to read in bright light.
Other: Certainly value for money.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: It's small, work very accurate.Quality is good, very well build. Many options for personal needs. You can configure the MAX-MIN temp. settings which is very good because it prevents of accidentali inputting of wrong value. A good range of work, the cable for the probe is not very short. Sufficient light,it is seen very well in the bright daylight.
Cons: I really don't find any.Just the reaction time (rising of the temp. is a little bit slow, but still very good).
Other: Planning to buy 1 or 2 more.
