DiyoMate HP3600 RM/RMVB VGA/TV OTG+PMP Player for 2.5" SATA HDD with Component Video and USB Host

Pros: It´s a very good devide. Very well made.
It played every media file that I have tried with perfection.
It comes with all the necessary cables and it´s exacly as it look on the photos.

Cons: The subtitles have a small delay. But it´s just some mili seconds and this do not interfere in anything.
Initially I had a problem with the subtitles. You can´t change the size, color or font of the subtitles. But after some days researching I found a way of doing that. You can use a program called AVIAddXSubs. This program will add the subtitle to the movie in only 2 minutes without hardcoding it and you can choose the font, the size and the color of the subtitle. Then in the device if you click the Subtitle button the subtitles will appear, if you click again they will disappear.

Other: It works great.

A little bit expensive, however this one played every file that I have tried and have the subtitle option!

Pros: This is an excellent device, unlike cheaper devices which rely on messy breakout cables, this device has a full suite of output ports on the back. As a bonus, the HP-3600 includes a VGA connector for high resolution output.
RMVB playback works great and looks excellent.
Player supports Chinese file names which is a nice touch. However, see Cons for a minor issue.

Cons: I noticed that it doesn't sort Chinese file names correctly, this presents an issue if you like to view one episode after another.
However, renaming the file names to English fixed the problem,.

Other: Works as advertised, extremely happy with purchase.

Pros: As advertised and does it jobs.
Plays rmvb, avi, jpeg, mp3 and what not.. haven't really fully tested all media files yet since i didn't really have the time to play with it..
remote is pretty good as you can select the media type you want to view.. instead of going back to the menu

Cons: the thing i found is i put in an avi file and it plays fine.. but once i start to fastfoward it.. the picture and audio becomes out of sync.. not sure what happened there.. not the case with rmvb files.

Other: not a bad unit.. could be cheaper

Pros: -Play all formats except ".mks"
(Tried avi, mpeg1/2, rmvb, vob)
-Excellent output quality at 720p
-User interface: Simple and quite user friendly
-Display Chinese folder and file name (with some minor issue)
-Support multiple partition on a single external drive

Cons: -The external drive is still powered by the unit even the unit is off. (It is kind of odd in my opinion, it might reduce the life of the external drive, but workaround is to unplug the drive after turning off the unit)
-Not all Chinese character (simple & traditional) could be displayed even within one folder name or file name. I am not sure if it is related to text encoding though.

Other: After using it for several weeks (in some days, I use it for 8-10 hours straight), it proves to me that it is a quite stable piece of hardware.
I am very happy with this purchase.
I am planning to replace the laptop on each TV with this.
If dealextreme is going to carry the HMDI version, then it would be perfect. But with 720p component, the image quality is very good.

Pros: Very small and of a reasonably sturdy build.
Easy to set it up for my TV.
Video quality comes through great.
Plays every type of file I use.

Cons: Menu navigation is a bit wonky. Once I had finished with the settings menu, I couldn't navigate to the main menu. All I got was a blank screen with the background. (Perhaps a firmware issue) I had to unplug it then plug it back in to get to the main menu. Not a huge problem since I won't have to set it up again. I did try it a couple of times to see if it was an isolated incident but it was the same each time.

Other: A little bit more expensive than some of the media players I've seen but all of the other ones were essentially hard drive cases requiring that I buy a drive as well. This is much smaller and I can use any of the memory cards or thumbdrives that I have with it.
