That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. Pros: * Plug and play, no drivers needed * Nice sight distance (tested on 6m) * Have all shortcuts that i need (Fullscreen, Go to Desktop, Close, Alt+Tab, Turn Off, etc..) * Can control Media Player Classic, Volume, Pause, Resume, etc.. * Small USB IR receiver * Works fine on Microsoft Windows XP SP3
Cons: * The build quality don't looks perfect, but´s fine * 2x AAA not included
Other: Get it now for your Media PC!

Pros: Cheap.
Works out of the box driver free as specified.
Lots of handy hotkeys like alt+tab, e-mail, fullscreen and mobile phone style keyboard.
Joystick for mouse control!
Cons: Not the 18 meters of range as specified by the manufacturer, more like 10 meters.
Bright red led when buttons are pressed.
Other: Just buy this. If you listen to music from your pc while you're not sitting directly at it you should have this lying around your house.

Pros: - Works straight out of the box. Your operating system only has to support USB-based input devices (HID). - If not necessarily 18 meters, the sight distance should be enough for a usual room.
Cons: - The build quality is cheap. I expect the silver coating of the plastic to rub off soon, even during plain daily use. Also, make sure to not drop it too often. ;-) - The further you are, the more precisely you have to point the remote controller towards its receiver, even with freshly recharged batteries. (A bit too narrow cone of emission?) - The joystick for controlling the mouse cursor is pretty useless as, for some weird reason, straight up/down/left/right is virtually impossible. Oh well, I'm into hotkeys anyway... - As a programmer myself, I would've been happier if the hotkeys were configurable as the ones burned into the device conflict with the ones I've been using for years (Ctrl-Alt-letters for launching favorite applications).
Other: Simple, effective, no-nonsense. Don't be discouraged about my writing more cons than pros: this is nevertheless a good device, it's just me being too picky. ;-)

Pros: This remote is great. It has good range and feels good in the hand. It worked out of the box with Windows 7. Media keys work with Media player classic and VLC (after editing the hotkeys in vlc). Very convenient if you are lazy like I am.
Cons: The mouse can be difficult to get used to.
Other: Great for the price. This is the best item I have ordered on dealextreme. Since it is detected as a keyboard and mouse rather than a remote there is no special driver install needed. Buy it, you will not be disappointed.

Pros: No need the manuals, I slot in the batteries, plug in the IR receiver and started playing with it. No driver needed for Windows XP and above. Great remote with ability for cursor movements. Useful buttons/short-cuts for controlling most media players, Windows explorer and desktop applications etc.
Cons: No cons.
Other: If you are looking for a PC remote controller, need not look far. For its really low price and functionality, its definitely worth the money. Besides, DX will send it right to your doorstep.

Pros: Really easy to use. works great on windows 7.To configure the hotkeys, just go on the shortcut of the program you like(right-click - properties), and in the "key shortcut" you place the combination that the manual shows.
Cons: None at all! really good product! but the color is a little too shiny, make you think its not very well build... But for that price, what would you expect?!
Other: buy it! you wont regret! anyone can use it! (at least on windows 7 - which was the one i used)

Pros: I recently dismantled my home "office" area and moved the computer into our master bedroom. It just seemed natural to make it into a media center, so I needed a remote to use with it. This one works great! Simply plugged it in on XP and it was recognized and started working. Setting up the shortcuts in my media programs was quick and simple. In fact, the only one I had to tweak was VLC. Most other "packaged" media player software (Windows Media Player, WinDVD, etc.) is already configured to respond to the MediaKey emulation that the remote does.
Cons: The mouse control can be a little touchy, but it works. With some patience, it's not that hard to navigate and click on most things. It supports right clicks as well, so that's even better! The phone-pad style text entry is probably the worst part about it, but I didn't really get it for typing anyhow.
Other: Easy and convenient remote operation for setting up and interacting with a media-center style computer.

Pros: Cheap, fairly well built. Buttons are an alright size and feel pretty good. Easy to setup the custom keys. It's not too heavy and not too light. Nice to have a key press indicator as well!
Cons: the mouse button works a little strange, can be a little difficult to use, but it's not meant to be a mouse replacement anyway! Would be nice if it came with batteries, but can't really complain!
Other: Get one! For the price, it's definitely worth it! Fantastic little remote

Pros: No setup was needed on my HTPC running WinXP and Media Player Classic. All major functions work making it much easier to watch my videos without getting up and walking across the room and trying to watch on the TV screen while I make changes. The range is great as I am able to run my HTPC from across the room with no problems!
Cons: The mouse function is a little weird, as others have noted. It is difficult/impossible to move the pointer in a straight line, but I can usually get where I need to without much trouble. I usually navigate with the arrow keys anyway.
Other: This unit is great for someone who has an older spare PC connected to their TV to occasionally watch videos. It makes watching videos on a PC much easier. If you have a dedicated HTPC, you might want to spend the money on a nicer remote, but I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable PC remote.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: -plug and play , no hassle with drivers
-it works from farther than i can actually see to read; should be enough for anyone
-saves you trips to the pc
Cons: -not great quality plastic, but well worth the price
-mouse function will take a bit of time to get used to, pointer starts moving slowly and then goes very fast.
Other: Go for it! if you like listening to music from your pc or watching some clips before bed you'll find it very useful. Don't expect the feel of a much more expensive r.c. but if you're willing to pay much more you've no reason to be here anyway.
