Dropad 7" Capacitive LCD Android 2.2 Tablet PC w/ Wi-Fi/GPS/Bluetooth/HDMI (8GB TF/Cortex A8)

Pros: Strong build inside aluminium channel. Better battery life, with wireless and GPS off, more than 8 hours. Included micro SD card protected behind end cover. GPS reports accuracy to within 5 meters when multiple satelites accessed. 5 point multi touch active, should ultimately function with google maps etc twist etc gestures. Good battery life. The volume controls are now on the end of the side, physical buttons. I like these, because they are accessible even when an application has taken up the whole screen.

Cons: No 3G, so GPS needs offline maps cache to be useful. Touch screen software doesn't always respond to touch for press and release, swipes are fine, I think this is a software version problem, more improvement should be possible. Released software in my version crashes when I try to load a new Android application from the app store, I've fixed this with a firmware version upgrade. The back,menu and home functions are touch sensitive on the glass, I'm considering a protective raised overlay, as it's very easy to slide your fingers too far while in various applications, and to suddenly be in the home screen or at least away from where you intended to be.

Other: Be sure to store it for carrying with the glass side next to a tough flat surface, the aluminium is strong, but the glass is fragile. Note that the 500Mb quoted will include the graphics memory for the screen, which is considerable for the 800 * 480 colour screen memory. as a consequence, you will rarely see more than 214Mb free, remember, this is not a desktop computer with a separate graphics card and memory! On board RAM is co-opted for use wherever needed. This is a great tablet now if you are prepared to get your hands wet with software upgrading from the android community and the supplier, if you want something ready to go, and a bit easier, give this a month or two before ordering (try september onwards) to give them time to sort the early release bugs.

Pros: The dropad 8AX does everything I wanted it to do: GPS, browsing, emails, games and youtube. It might even prove to be a streamer at some level but I did not test that yet. I bought it as a travel device - something that would navigate me and at the same package provide entertainment and information. So far I can see that it has proven its worth.

Cons: It is not an out of the box tool. You have to work your way through it to make it work. For me it took a bit more time as I was not familiar with Android. My main annoyance was that the firmware it comes with does not support upgrading a firmware with the 8GB SD card that is provided. So you have to get a 2GB (or 4GB possibly) and upgrade the firmware from there.
Another con - it is a bit heavy.

Other: A good device for the price. I didn't see other tablets that came at this price + all features when I ordered it (6/2011, but things may have changed).
It is definitely a VERY useful device.

Cons: Only bad is not 3G inside!

Other: Powerfull processor mean 1080p video playback, playing hard games. GPS good but without 3G, you need to download maps in offline from wifi or PC. Bluetooth is fast but more devices have old bluetooth 2.x. Battarey very capacative, about 6-8 hours with low power settings. And if you need Tablet Pc for not many money - dropad best choice...

Pros: works great! run almost everything
gps runs rly good! the first time take a while to make it work, but the second runs smoothly(i use sygic not the chinese one that the tablet got), you can watch movie very well

Other: really nice tablet, you must buy it!in my case , charger doesnt work, so i opened and i repaired it, works great now, it would be nice if this tablet came with a hdmi cable.

Pros: -As a gadget it is great fun. I already spent hours playing around with it & figuring it out, missing out on some of my appointments. -it is a great tool for various activities: pictures, video, audio. -Built in items work as advertised. Wifi connection was setup quite easy so surfing on the net was no problem. USB connection both as host & client work fine. Bluetooth: files are transferred at a reasonable speed. GPS & android market works quite straightforwardly. -the touchscreen works great. No issues there. -Size: 7 inch is an ideal compromise for moving it around and still have a decent screen size.

Cons: -Bluetooth works fine but it took a while to figure out how to confirm the transfer. Once I found out, it is quite easy. -external 3G dongle. I have yet to uncover how to make this work. There are a lot of post on the net but none that helped me out so far.

Other: A great toy/device with lots of possibilities.

Pros: Please note that the comments below refer to the tablet with the updated firmware A8X0705: With powerful hardware, runs almost everything with no lags.. True GPS inside let you use as car GPS after put some map. Aluminium body is very hard and looks solid constructed. Great screen and good touchscreen. Has manufature support, with system upgrades and new functions. Comes with 8 gyga microsd card.

Cons: Before the firmware update, Market was not working (very few applications available), forcing the manual installation of applications. The touch screen was unresponsive. Some bugs too. System updates erase all data! Beware!

Other: It's fast, it's gold, it's cheap! Buy with SKU.47048 - SKU.81329 and SKU.44517 and be happy!

Pros: 1) Powerfull processor and battery, supported everything I've experienced without problems. 2) The capacitive screen has amazing accuracy. 3) Is great to read, play games, watch movies and many other applications. 4) Bluetooth is very useful, you can share files easily with cell phones.

Cons: I could not access the full android market (not sure if it's just me, or if all are like that). No built-in 3G

Other: Is a very useful device and the price is great. It is certainly a good investment. Recommended to buy a protective case with the tablet.

Pros: Upgrade this tablet to firmware version 909 at least, on android gingerbread 2.3.1, this device rocks! super snappy response, fast boot, very fast shutdown, no crashes yet after a week's operation. Graphics on this tablet's always been a bonus. Pre android 2.3.1 I had a problem with GPS not staying off, that's fixed now.

Cons: Any firmware below Android 2.3.1 sucks in comparison. Make sure to keep a 2g micro sd for the upgrade and follow the steps exactly.Pre 2.3.1 icons can take most of a minute to reappear, the application manager is super slow to load, the GPS won't shut off and consumes more power. *Beware* that the power charging plug is easily broken and non standard, it's a mini USB variant with 5 additional pins on the inside of the shorter face of the plug. Best to heat shrink over the plug and pull it out during us to stop the wires breaking prematurely.

Other: Upgrade to Android Gingerbread 2.3.1, it's so worth it! Take care of the charging plug, don't use it while charging unless it's in a safe position where it can't possibly fall down and rip the plug out. Buy the storage bag shown below, it's not as slimline as the samsung tablets and won't fit their cases. Alternatively, get a bluetooth keyboard/case, editing is painful without keyboard copy/cut/paste functionality.

Cons: hdmi output dont work @ android 2.3 but there is a firmware update coming.
sound quality is bad but thats a software problem so maybe @ the new firmware that will be solved.

Other: im verry happy with the tablet and it works perfectly!
i use it everyday. the wifi is verry stable and i can play a lot games om the tablet. asphalt works, sandstorm works , angreybirds works.

Pros: - It packs original android (all these tablets do, but I keep myself away from android customizations)
- Includes a real gps receiver

Cons: Software hands all the time, I mean, all the time, it does have a bug in the standby/sleep procedure, so you leave it in standby and the device will only wake up after a hard reset, that happens random but frequently.
Often, if you plug it in the USB to charge, and then unplug it, it will still think that it's plugged and for no reason consume a lot of battery.
As with all other chinese devices, limited google market.

Other: Some tablets can't handle skype, on this one skype does work, but you'll have to get root access with gingerbreak for that, as some hacking is needed for it to work.
Also, skype on this devices crashes somewhat frequently and hangs the whole device with it.
