Pros: One of my goals was to get it working with SDR (Software Defined Radio) ... which went well: I have it working on Linux for FM radio using rtl_fm Technical details: Realtek, RTL2838UHIDIR Rafael Micro R820T tuner
Cons: My other goal was to use it for DAB. However, under Windows, I couldn't find any DAB features. The accompanied CD only seems to give TV-software. No FM, no DAB.
Other: Great stick for SDR. Pity I can't find any DAB features.

Pros: Very Nice Hardware, RTL2832U + R820T. Comes with a little antenna, only suitable for strong signals. Works perfectly for SDR porpouse.
Cons: No cons this far. The price is nice, in Brazil the unit price is 4 to 5 times bigger.
Other: Buy It. A lot of fun for this little price.

Pros: I bought this dongle only to use as cheap SDR receiver and it works brilliantly. In contrary to previous version (with E4000 tuner), the new one contains ESD protection diode, and also, the R820T chip provides better sensitivity.
Cons: The dongle uses XTAL oscillator (28.8 MHz) instead of external generator IC, so its frequency stability is poor. The signal frequency shown by SDR# is even 100 kHz lower or higher than the real frequency of the transmitter. But, after all, the device wasn't built for this purpose and it's order of magnitude cheaper than the cheapest dedicated SDRs.
Other: I'm using SDR# (SDRSharp) as the receiving software and WinUSB driver installed with Zadig. Here's tutorial for installing and configuring all the stuff: http://rtlsdr.org/softwarewindows http://rtlsdr.org/softwarelinux
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Comes with R820T tuner, good range as in datasheet. Sensitivity is comparable to E4000 tuner based on use, though I have no proper equipment to verify it.
Cons: USB stick plastic cap is tight, have to file off a bit to allow the cap to slide in smoothly. The plastic case can be open too easily with finger nails. Don't drop it else the case will split open easily. Antenna is a short 4 inch whip which is probably good for strong 800Mhz use only. An external antenna is recommended.
Other: Will recommend this product and will buy again for SDR use.

Pros: TV tuner for DIY. Contains realtek RTL283U, which allows its use as a universal receiver for certain radio frequency bands. Good manufacturing printed circuit boards, components soldered smoothly. Build quality is good. The plastic is pleasant to the touch. Includes antenna for tsifroyh channels. It comes with software for the reception of television channels, the software is translated into many languages ??inostranyh.
Cons: Difficult to read the included CD-ROM with drivers and software. Input for antenna small diameter, it is difficult to find an extension cord for the antenna. Gain antenna is weak.
Other: A good and inexpensive device for people who receive various radio programs.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - Works well with OsmoSDR, RTLSDR and SDR#
Cons: - very hot after a while; some websites advise to install an homemade heatsink to avoid to damage the device
Other: - you will have to improve the antenna to receive things like CB, amateur radio, weather data, airplanes ...
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - well made - cheap - good sensitivity - FM/DAB radio support
Cons: - no adapter for antenna connector - included software for watching TV could be better
Other: Great choice for a TV Tuner if you also want to have FM/DAB radio. If that's not the case, you should get a DVB-T only tuner as they have better sensitivity in TV band. Some of you are probpably looking for a rtl-sdr compatible stick. This is a good one.
